Our rattie baby, Matilda, died tonight.

As koyote and I have posted before, she was sick. But she was doing so much better. She was happy, and had a good appetite, and was exploring and climbing in her cage. And then I came in to feed her and she was dead ( Read more... )

Poor Matilda, the rattie, isn't doing very well. I'm not sure what's wrong. I'm thinking perhaps she had a stroke, since she seems largely unaware of her left paw when not paying attention to it, and seems to be having some difficulties getting around ( Read more... )

Bah. Some people are dumb. A person in my online class just claimed that since the people we were studying weren't citizens, it was sad that they could not get proper medical care, but that we can't provide medical care for everyone. I must find something to do to make these weekends when koyote is working more bearable. I've gotten too used to him being around.

Things I can do:

• Cook reasonably healthy food and freeze it for lunch/dinner later in the week, so I don't always end up eating whatever is quick and easy.

It's raining like crazy here. I love listening to the rain and wind during storms, but occasionally tonight I feel that the water must be up to the windowsills by now. Looking at weather.com, this feeling is understandable. Many areas around here have received 3-5 inches of rain in the past several hours. It's strange, and sometimes vaguely frightening, how strongly a song can be tied to a certain place/time.
