"So what do I have to do to get out?"
"There's no way out."
"The monsters only come out at night, but there's a lot of corpses laying around today."
"Whose house is it, then?"
"No one knows~"
"You're in luck, actually, arriving at a time like this. You'll be safe until nightfall . . ."

And he looked . . . pretty bad. Worse off than Hikaru, anyway. The redhead frowned with concern - what had happened? He looked like he hadn't had a decent night's sleep in days.
"H-hikaru?" "It's me," He confirmed the question a bit edgily, still confused about Kaoru's actions and appearance. Then, as he saw moisture in his brother's eyes, he knew something was definitely wrong. Kaoru ran for him - ran like a man who had been stuck on an island for years and finally found mainland and civilization - and he was slightly taken aback as he crashed into him. Hikaru stumbled momentarily, but clasped his hands at his brother's back to hold him in place ( ... )

Word formed and blended together to form an incoherent jumble of words. He tried to calm himself down, but having Hikaru here was just...it was wonderful and terrible and the both the best and worst thing that could have ever happened. He wanted to cry and laugh and smile and frown, but all he could do was cling tighter to his brother - his brother who was here and in one piece and real.
"I'm here, okay? And I'm not going to leave you."
"Please...please don't leave." His voice was soft and pleading. He was desperate and it killed him to know that he was this selfish - that despite everything he still was overwhelmingly happy that Hikaru was here. But maybe together...together they would be ok. Together they could survive ( ... )

And again, he repeated his plea. "Why would I leave you, Kaoru?" He said softly through half-way lidded eyes, gazing down at him. "I will never leave you." We're only going to leave when we get out of this place. So determined; so convinced.
"And why is your uniform such a mess? Tono won't be very happy. We'll need to get that washed," He stated lightly. There was all this nasty gook on it. Yes, one can always count on Hikaru to bring up the trivial things in times of a crisis.
But then his brother pulled away, just when he thought that he'd never let go. Hikaru straightened, blinking his amber eyes. Why didn't he say something? Why ( ... )
