Ok...so...cans needed to be opened. Opened with...a can opener? What would one of those even look like? Wasn't there just a tab he could pull like on soda cans? The redhead flipped the can every which way, trying to see if maybe, just maybe, there was something on it that would open it. Like...a button he could push or a picture of what a can opener looked like or...

"Kaoru? You're here, too?"

He froze.

...That voice. That voice had haunted his dreams for the past week and a half. The voice that he'd been longing and aching to hear just one more time. The voice of his brother, his twin, his other half.

At first he thought he was hallucinating - he hadn't slept in days, and the most he'd eaten was, well...he couldn't remember the last time he ate something. It was a perfectly rational assumption, all things considered. But what if...what if...

Slowly he turned around, amber eyes falling upon his mirror image. Hair swept to the right, the suit he wore, his eyes, his face.

It...it couldn't be.

The can of soup fell out of his hands, landing with a loud clunk on the floor as he stared at his brother. "H-hikaru?" The boy felt like someone had knocked the wind out of him. It was getting difficult to breathe and something painful caught in his chest. Heat bubbled up behind his eyes, his lip trembled.

"Hikaru!" Kaoru ran towards his brother, practically collapsing into him as tears rolled down his cheeks. "Hikaru, why are you here, you shouldn't be here, you shouldn't be here, Hikaru, you can't be here," He clutched desperately to him, afraid that this wasn't real, that his brother would disappear - losing him again would be too much, he wouldn't be able to take it. "Why are you here? Please tell me you're real, please don't leave me."

Kaoru didn't know what to do. He didn't know how to feel. Relief and exhaustion and happiness and terror, worry and contentment and horror. The ache in his chest grew and he held on to Hikaru even tighter. He couldn't leave, not now. He had to be real, he had to be. But, oh...oh God he shouldn't be here. Not now, not ever.
