Firstly - where are you?! Is your gchat being a gaymo? My weekend feels incomplete without you *sobs*
Fine, I'll play your game. Three songs though? FML. Okay!
1) Coheed and Cambria - Blood Red Summer - this song isn't at all jolly in terms of lyrics but thoroughly is in terms of... jolliness. I would go as far as to say that it's my favourite song ever. It always makes me smile. And my first girlfriend was a DJ and played this when she asked me to officially go out with her at our student union *swoon*
2) RX Bandits - ... And the Battle Begun - The title track of the new fic of joy/woe. It has one of the best intros I've ever heard and always gets me excited for the rest of the song and the album. And those lyrics: Am I crazy, cos I wanna touch your skin? Just *dies*
3) Elliott Smith - Between the Bars - This song is perfect for when I'm feeling a bit sad - it lets me know that it's okay to feel like shit for a bit. And the whole 'Drink up baby, stay up all night' is such a great image and always makes me think of Katie sitting
( ... )
Yeah man, my gchat is being major sucky and just, meh :( I've tried signing in/out like a thousand times tonight and nothing! How are you though? Good weekend?
LOLL, You didn't have to play my game if you didn't want to. Jesus, there's no ~enthusiasm from some miserable sods people.
1)Blood Red Summer always reminds me of IKS and N/K getting it on ;)
2)Hadn't heard this song before (surprising considering it is your latest fic title) but it totally made me feel all like, bopping/dancey :)
Oh, I see. You were being all ~nice. You can understand why it confused me, right? :p
I shall give that song a listen... is there any hints in it as to what happens?!! No? Yes? Meh, you never tell me anything :(
Jesus, you're writing super speedy! I'm excited for more though. Is there some more K/N kissyfacing? Some more shadow!Emily? Will there be more dead Freddie jokes? ;)
Oh, have we never discussed this? I can't write drabbles for shit. Seriously. If someone offered me money to do one I still wouldn't be able to... and even worse than that, I'm not sure I want to write =/
Awww *snuggles you in a big fuzzy dressing grown* I hope you feel better soon. Cold's suck ass :(
I shall keep trying. WHY DOES TECHNOLOGY HATE ME?!
Fandom's deff been dead lately my friend. I blame both the end of the gen and exams. I'm finished up right now but I'm all backed up, splitting my time between three different fics, hence my silence. You, though, have no excuse, I have read little or nothing from you from the past month!
Acceptance - So Contagious I'm pretty sure someone from the skins fandom got me hooked on this, it's apparently one of the more famous Naomily themes. I did not know that. But it is adorable and epic and got me through the entire summer '09. I have a feeling if I were stuck on a desert island, I should probably have this to get me through it.
Regina Spektor - Fidelity Regina Spektor is my love. I am actually just in love with her. She could sing me a song about mathematics and I would still fangirl all over her like no tomorrow. This song in particular speaks to me, the romantic, lonely and artistic vibes just suit my mood at all times.
LOLL, I like how there was no sympathy there at all for my lack of fics or my writers' block except for a simple order of 'WRITE ANYWAY!' :p
I hope all your exams went well, Nat :) Looking forward to seeing these three fics too, I feel like I seriously need a Naomily fix, I'm getting withdrawals and I'm not liking it :(
I have to admit that that Acceptance song was the first Naomily fanvids I ever stumbled across, so yes, it's like an official E/N theme song.
I have a feeling you're going to hate me for this but I really don't like Regina Spektor at ~all. I especially loathe that song. It drove me insane when she released it and every time it would come on the radio I would immediately turn over. We can still be friends, right? *grins cheekily*
I like the Little Joy song, it's got a sunny vibe to it :)
I actually checked your journal yesterday, making sure I didn't miss an entry or something. Nice to see you're still alive and kicking <3
As for my songs, I finally decided on three, but like flister said above these things are hardly written in stone and might be an entirely different story tomorrow.
1) Where is my mind - The Pixies: One of my all-time favs. I'm pretty sure this song will be on this list for a very long time, if not till the end of days. I'm conflicted whether I like the original or the Placebo cover more though. The latter is actually my 'waking up' song for when I'm away. The friend I was sharing the room with during my holidays wasn't so fussed though, she complained constantly about the unnerving screaming at the beginning. I was seriously offended. But well, music taste will never be something we agree on.
2) A lack of color - Death cab for cutie: I remember loving this song upon first hearing it. It has a personal meaning to me and I usually listen to it when I want to reminisce. It was hard to choose
( ... )
Aww thanks dude :) I'm still alive, don't worry. Not so much kicking happening lately though, I'm feeling a little deflated inspiration-wise :( Hopefully it'll come to me in time!
I really like the Pixies so you get two thumbs up from me for this choice (Y)(Y) :D
Oh, DCFC have some gorgeous songs. Another good choice <3
I haven't actually heard that song, but I'll be sure to track it down and give it a listen!
I know, right? I wish taking a complete and full ipod was an option but this is an evil game, so, my apologies :P
Thanks for dropping by and sharing your thoughts as always!
I could upload it for you if you want, would save you a lot of time.
And don't tell me about lack of inspiration, only mine has been gone for so long that you couldn't even know if you wanted to, since it started way before skins. I think I win this pity party, no? I'm looking forward to whatever you're theoretically working on atm though (especially if its NE, as you probably know by now :P).
Btw, I forgot to mention that I really like this Counting Crows song, never heard that one before. The video for Can't go back momentarily confused me, I was like "Disfigured hands?! WTF?".
If you don't mind I'd really appreciate it :) Thank you!
LOLL, pity party wars. I think this could become a weekly topic where we all gather together to see who's had the worst week. Y/Y? ;)
Thank you for the early vote of confidence :) (and yes it's an AU E/N ;))
I'm glad you like it :) I find it's one of their highly underrated songs and yet it's been my favourite of theirs for years. Their earlier albums are so much better than their newer ones.
LOLL! Disfigured hands. Yeah, the video is kind of sucky. It's like a creepier (if possible) version of the Muppets!
Fuck, this was hard. Why would you do this to me?! Also, bizarrely, I wouldn't necessarily pick any of these songs as my favourite songs.
1. You'll Never Walk Alone - Gerry and the Pacemakers I'm a massive football fan, and Celtic's my team. This song's played before every match, and when the whole stadium of 60,000 people stand to sing this, the atmosphere is like nothing else. The lyrics sort of sum up to me the sort of extended family thing that goes along with the club (and that I also associate with many of my friends). The number of memories that it holds, be it goals/results/players/general moments of joy, is too many for me not to take with.
3. Keeping Warm - We Were Promised Jetpacks A few reasons, 1. because it's long 2. because they're Scottish and thus it'd be a connection to home 3. because the lyric "The chances of being born are so slim, so keep warm, so keep warm
( ... )
LOVE Counting Crows, great choice! I wish we could do top three albums, but I should try to contain myself, this is a desert island after all :P
Clumsy- Our Lady Peace This song is very nostalgic for me. I love the combination of cruelty/hopefulness in the lyrics, it's very high school, but also still meaningful.
The Canyon Behind Her- dredg One of the most beautiful songs ever recorded. I can never get enough dredg, I would bring everything they've ever done to this island, if it weren't against the rules :P
Jesus- Brand New Again, I want this whole album on the island, The Devil and God Are Raging Inside Me is virtually flawless. I picked this track, just because, I love the flow and rhythm of it, and it encapsulates the conflict between doubt and belief so well.
Honorable mentions to Death Cab and Elliot Smith, don't think I could do without them, but three was the limit.
Oh, top three albums would be a whole different story... I don't even know where I'd start there, I mean, I rarely like an album from start to finish so to find three that I do and wouldn't get bored of would be interesting *ponders*
Nice choice of songs dude :) I hadn't heard of dredg before (thanks for the link btw) but I really liked the song. I definitely think I'll be taking a wider listen to their stuff.

LOL, it was meant to be like a 'Fine, I will take your challenge *twirls mustache*' but obviously that didn't come across.
I'd recommend finding Only for the Night as well, by RX Bandits... that chapter's coming later.
I've done 8k this weekend and the end still isn't in sight! This fic is kicking my arse already. Awesome.
Why don't you try some drabbles or something? Write something to keep me entertained.
I am still snotty and gross. It's not nice. I just wish it would fuck right off. Blah.
Don't give up on gchat! Tell it I needs you.
*clings harder!!*
