Hello all!
How are you? Good I hope and enjoying some nice weather, yeah?
Okay, so I promised myself that I'd try and use this a little more and so far I have pretty much failed. I'm sure it's because I have nothing insightful or wise to say and don't feel the need to bother you all with my daily thoughts (which pretty much consist of food and sleep and a few other odd bits and pieces).
WARNING: This post is no different!
(I still don't have anything insightful or wise to say... but I felt like dropping by and saying 'hey' anyway.)
Update on fandom things:
If you're not and haven't been reading the
Rohy Does recaps you should. Immediately. So worth it. Not to mention, so many lols :)
flister has started a new AU fic call
And The Battle Began.... Which is Naomi-centric and focusing on her relationship with the lovely Fitch twins. If you haven't read it yet DO IT it's amazing and has me hooked already♥
Big thanks to the lovely
prunesquallormd for my delicious (I wish I actually could eat it - I want cookies!) virtual gift :)
Good news: I have started my new fic.
Bad news: I have been struck down with a severe case of writers' block and lack of motivation :(
Is it me or is fandom a bit dead lately? Makes me sad :( I wish they'd officially confirm or deny the movie - I think it would make letting go of the show/characters so much easier.
Pointless Game Is Pointless:
So, I'm sure you've all been asked this before at some point, but I thought I'd ask you anyway because I'm a)Bored and b) Curious - If you were on a deserted island with your ipod and you were only allowed to have your most favourite three songs ever on it, what would they be and why?
Mine would be:
1)
Counting Crows - Round Here - My Dad would always play their album 'August and Everything After' when I was about 5/6 and I used to sing this one at the top of my lungs, not really caring what it was about because, duh, I was little. But growing up it's always been a song I come back to, partly for sentimental reasons (if I play it now when my dad is around he'll still sing along with me) and partly because I think it's lyrical genius ('Step out the front door like a ghost into the fog where no one notices the contrast of white on white') and hauntingly beautiful.
2)
Rosie Thomas - Since You've Been Around - This song makes me ache in all the right ways. It's pretty simplistic with its lyrics but they always hits home with me, that ability to lose yourself and be confused and conflicted and freed all at the same time because of one person.
3)
The Weepies - Can't Go Back Now - This one is only a few years old now but it was a really personal one to me because it reflected a time in my life where I really realised that it was time that I had to grow up whether I wanted to or not. That through all the mess that was going on in my life and the people I wanted to count on but couldn't, I had to pull myself together and find the strength to carry the weight on my own shoulders without any help and not get caught up lingering/stuck in the past ('walk on, walk on, walk on, 'cause you can't go back now').
Love to you all as always♥
