Fuck, this was hard. Why would you do this to me?! Also, bizarrely, I wouldn't necessarily pick any of these songs as my favourite songs.

1. You'll Never Walk Alone - Gerry and the Pacemakers I'm a massive football fan, and Celtic's my team. This song's played before every match, and when the whole stadium of 60,000 people stand to sing this, the atmosphere is like nothing else. The lyrics sort of sum up to me the sort of extended family thing that goes along with the club (and that I also associate with many of my friends). The number of memories that it holds, be it goals/results/players/general moments of joy, is too many for me not to take with.

2. American Girl - Tom Petty and the Heartbreakers My dad played their best of album ad nauseam when I was younger, and this song rocks. It just does.

3. Keeping Warm - We Were Promised Jetpacks A few reasons, 1. because it's long 2. because they're Scottish and thus it'd be a connection to home 3. because the lyric "The chances of being born are so slim, so keep warm, so keep warm ( ... )

Just as long as everyone knows it's really Liverpool's anthem ...

I loathe football, but there is something rather moving about hearing that sung but thousands of fans. Didn't know it was Celtic's anthem too.

It strange what songs people actually do pick when they're faced with only being allowed three. Funnily enough they're normally not even their most listened to tracks - I know mine most certainly aren't. Thank god we're all really allowed to have as much music as we want!

Nice choice of songs :) I really like We Were Promised Jetpacks, I've been playing their album quite a lot lately :)

Thanks for your thoughts dude!
