An Asshole and Terminator: tSCC

The mighty "Gabe" from Penny Arcade in a typically hilarious update briefly links his faithful readers (also the unfaithful ones) to this article. He (I'm paraphrasing) mentions some minor dislike for its author. Obviously I had to read the article in question (in question indeed). Holy SHIT this guy. I mean. It's hard to read an article full ( Read more... )

I enjoyed the pilot of T:TSCC as well, but it did feel almost like it was trying a little too hard to be Terminatory. It was like they took many pieces out of T2 (I haven't even gotten around to seeing T3 yet) and redid them with slightly different setting and cast. Still, it's got me interested to see more, so I suppose it did its job.

As for the article mentioned (I've gotten so far behind on my web comics, I don't even know where to pick up... last summer maybe?), I just skimmed the first paragraph or two, and umm, I thought Mass Effect was some kinda sci-fi RPG/FPS blend thing. Apparently it's a hentai game? Damn, I guess I gotta get me a 360 after all.

And what the hell is a companion cube?

Yeah I was questioning the logic of some of the badguy Terminator's decisions a lot. He actually gave John an extra few seconds of getting away to stop and grin at the classroom of kids, simply because it was scary. He also stopped to, I dunno, enjoy the moment (?) when he had John in front of him on the ground pointing a gun at him a minute later. Between those wastes of time, River (heh) had enough time to run him over with a truck. Soooooooooo, like, I guess the terminators have emotions 'n shit now? If so, I'm OK with that, although I hope they can tell us why that makes sense. Otherwise shit like that will eventually drive me insane, I mean, they're ROBOTS! I'll keep an open mind 'n give 'em time though ( ... )

Yeah... I was constantly thinking to myself, what's the point of using a machine as an assassin if it has slow reflexes, poor aim, and can't anticipate the movements of somebody going in a straight line? I mean sure, it's hard to kill, it's very strong, it can mimic voices, and it has neat visual sensors, but other than that... it's kind of a retard. Maybe I'm just being a little hard on it though, after all, those are kind of classic faults in television and movie villains, and for that matter, its aim could have been worse - it could have been a cyborg stormtrooper. At least they acknowledged that you have to reload a gun every so often ;) I almost laughed when "River" said "come with me if you want to live." Then I was thinking - yeah if I were John, she wouldn't have to ask twice hehe. Reminds me again of T2 - "So you have to do anything I say?" ;)

Yeah, Summer Glau, human or robot I wouldn't care. ;) And yeah, I totally mouthed, "Come with me if you want to live." with her. Anyway, yeah we'll see. :)

Son of a biscuit, I thought they were rerunning the pilot tonight, which is why I skipped last night's. Two new episodes, but on different days? FEH.

Holy carp, Fox already has the pilot up online. Well played, gentlemen! It's like you actually want me to watch your programming, despite all evidence to the contrary. Time to catch up tomorrow Or So.
