"Back so soon, kupo?"

"Dunno what you're talking about 'soon'. It's been a long time."

The little pig creature only fluttered it's tiny wings and tweaked it's nose, seemingly chortling to itself before it handed a small plastic bag over the shop counter to Axel. With a nod in thanks he accepted it and then turned to take off down the frosted ( Read more... )

((OOC: I'm glad you think so! ♥ You should replay them! They're super fun games to go back to after a long hiatus, I find. :3 ...I think it's because the series is just so sickeningly sweet and mushy. |D))Even with the door shut Axel could predict what was going on behind the door. He could smell hot chocolate and feel the warmth of the house just barely against his exposed skin, and it was with that that he could decipher that the fireplace hadn't been turned on. Hm. Stubborn kid. Axel did nothing more than roll his eyes, however, before he straightened back up and waited patiently for Haru to answer. He didn't want to ruin the surprise by appearing annoyed, after all ( ... )

((OOC: Nothing like chestnuts, hot cocoa, and killing a thousand Heartless. ♥))

Axel wasn't too big on having his personal space invaded, but with Haru it was impossible to avoid that, so naurally he had grown used to it. He only smirked softly as the other spoke and messed with him, touched his face and kissed his now warm cheeks, and when he pulled away he finally had the chance to unzip his coat and toss it over on the coat rack near the front door.

Dressed up in some tight black pants and a grey, long-sleeved turtleneck, he made his way over to the couch and plopped down with a heavy sigh, arm tossed over the back of the cushions and one leg crossed over the other. "Man, what's there to tell?" he replied as he eyed the empty fireplace in front of them.

"If I hadn't finished work quickly enough, I probably wouldn't have gotten the ok to leave early. ...It's snowing over there, too."

"Stupid stain!"

Misaki roughly scrubbed at the kitchen counter top as if he were trying to scrub away some evil force. He had been at it for ten minutes; truth be told, he would have let it go by now, but lately he had been horribly irate and in just an overall foul mood. He told himself it was nothing, but no matter how hard he denied it, he couldn't help that nagging thought at the back of his mind.

Maybe, I'm not used to being alone. There it was again -- that thought! The scrubbing came to a stop as he stared down at the stain, but he wasn't actually focusing on it ( ... )

While he waited in the cold, Axel kept his hands balled up and hidden in his coat pockets as long as he could, leaving the plastic bag of goodies he'd bought earlier at his feet beside him. He really didn't like the cold and it left him more than uncomfortable given how his body functioned, but in this case...it was weird; he could tolerate it if it meant that he would get something in return for his trouble.

He wasn't big on romance, really, or so he liked to tell himself, but surprises--Those were different.

His face felt numb when finally the door opened and light poured out onto his feet, along with a very abrasive scent of cleaning product. He knew what that was about, but decided against asking. Instead he grinned and glanced away as if hurt. "Did I catch you at a bad time?"

Typical. Always so flustered and frantic when something would sneak up on him.

Axel shut his eyes and smirked a little wider, a chuckle escaping his throat, before he stepped inside and shut the door behind him, of course not forgetting the plastic bag, of course. Even as strong as the smell of cleaning products were in here, he wasn't going to complain. This was home, after all, and it was comfortable and good to be back. He was about to go on to say something, but Misaki's words stopped him. Now he was just pushing things.

Rolling his eyes, Axel reached over to prod the other on the nose.

"How 'bout you rest on the couch for a bit with me instead, huh?"

Sheena poked listlessly at the log burning away in the fireplace and sighed. She missed Axel. Really missed him. With one last poke at the fire, she set the poker aside and stood with a sigh.

Wandering into the kitchen to make a pot of tea, Sheena broke her promise to herself and stole a glance at the calendar. Still a long time before Axel came home. Trying not to think about the lonely days ahead without him, she set about making the tea. Soon, she returned to her spot in front of the fire with a tray holding the pot, a steaming cup of the beverage, and a plate full of her homemade cookies.

She had just set the tray down on the floor and joined it when the knock came on the door. With a disgruntled sigh, she stood again, and trying not to grumble, headed for the door. Axel's friends meant well by visiting and keeping her company, but couldn't she spend just one night alone in front of the fire thinking about him ( ... )

"Tea and cookies for one," he muttered to himself with a smirk, head turned down toward his feet as he absently kicked at the snow which was slowly turning into slush. The door wasn't opened yet, but Axel's instinct just told him what Sheena was doing inside. "Probably frustrated."

Roxas had told him all about her and how he had been trying to keep her company. Even Xion had pitched in to be the female support. But even if their company had been fun and dandy, Axel had always heard the same thing anyway: she missed him. Axel knew about missing and he knew that it hurt like all hell--like a bitter pill that just wouldn't go down in his throat, so who was he to put Sheena through the same thing?

His boss, he guessed. Sighing, he leaned up against the wall beside the door, waiting and waiting, before finally when the door opened he straightened up only to be squeezed near half to death. Chuckling, Axel managed to wrap his arms around her, one hand rested at the back of her head.

"So I've heard."

Sheena was too busy verifying he was actually right there with her with a tight embrace and wandering hands to hear him at first. Then his words penetrated her fog of happiness, and she looked up at him, reveling at the feel of his hand in her hair.

"You heard--? How?" Then the light dawned. "Oh. Roxas and Xion must have told you." She hadn't expected that. She hadn't wanted him to worry about her while he was gone, but she had to wonder just how many times she said it for them to tell him. It must have been a lot. She could feel her cheeks warming in embarrassment even as her expression turned impish.

"Well, I did. What are you going to do about that?"

"Those kids tell me a lot of things," he said as he slid his hand down to rest at her neck instead. It was true that having best friends had benefits, but at the same time it was a detriment to his own schedule. Sometimes they would just tell him things that he didn't necessarily want to know, like how much she really did worry about and miss him. In turn, those little tidbits would just make him a feel a little worse.

Axel sighed. Distance makes the heart grow stronger, as they say...whoever "they" was.

"Well, I don't have to do anything." As he said it, Axel loosened his hold around her so that he could step inside and shut the door behind him. "...Except maybe stick around and keep you company for a day or two."

((OOC: ...Oh god that's so true. What does this mean.))

Lenalee really did like the Westernization of the Holiday of Christmas. They never celebrated it much back in China and when the seasons rolled around, they celebrated about the Winter Solstice rather than Christmas.

So when she went to Europe and learned about the decorations and what not, she began to just- love it more than anything, especially with how warm everything was during the season.

Spending the day decorating, Lenalee hung up colors of the seasons along with a small tree for herself. She missed her family and her friends in this foreign town, but at least she could make herself happy and comfortable with the warmth of the season.

Blinking at the sound of a door knock, Lenalee stood up and brushed her going out party dress and hurried to the door.

"Hello?" She asked upon opening it.

Never. <3 viiinote December 24 2011, 07:51:45 UTC
As soon as the door swung open Axel hastily brushed a few flakes of snow off of his shoulders so that he could make himself a little more presentable and when Lenalee appeared decked out in that new party dress of hers he manage a smile. He'd missed her, to be honest, hence why he'd wanted to break free from work and come home sooner than later.

"Yo."

"Oh! Axel. Please come in and make yourself warm. It must be chilly outside." She said as she hurried to stand aside and kept the door open for him. "I put some tea preparing if you'd like a cup to keep yourself warm inside." She offered.

Shutting the door behind him, she hurried over to grab the laced shawl which she used to wrap around her bare arms. Part of her hair curled in silk ribbons around her arms but they hardly did anything to keep her warm. "I'm happy to see that so many places are nicely decorated for tonight."

He was quick to take her up on that offer and soon he was inside and shutting the door behind him. That done, he set his little plastic bag down on a nearby table and then looked around the room.

"You certainly pulled all the stops, too, Lenalee," he commented, noting the ornaments on the tree. "I knew you'd like this holiday, to be honest."

Though she'd been invited to lots of parties that evening, and though she had plenty of friends to spend her time with, Vanille had opted to spend Christmas Eve alone. On other nights of the year she might have gone out, enjoyed herself, and tried to get over the loneliness she seemed to sink into whenever Axel wasn't around. Tonight was different. Tonight was Christmas, and it was a special holiday for them. Celebrating it without him sounded even worse than celebrating it alone. The entire season had been painful- helping people decorate and decorating on her own, purchasing and wrapping gifts, listening to the cheerful holiday music filling the streets... It just made missing him all the harder, and it had her going home every evening to sit in front of the fireplace and sulk ( ... )

Back in Radiant Garden there had been many parties and invitations and often times Axel wondered if he'd really been there for business or just partying. It made sense, though, with this being the holiday season, and everyone around him just wanted to let loose and have fun, but though he'd gone to a couple shindigs and drank a couple of beers, he had never been fully satisfied with anything. He was too far away from things there...and whether he would admit it or not, it sucked ( ... )

Not keeping still was a good way to keep her mind off of things she didn't want to think about, particularly when she was missing someone. She kept her body busy because it kept her mind busy, and at the end of the day when she was ready for bed, she could lay her head down and not have to worry about not being tired enough to drift off to sleep. With him gone, it took longer already, so she needed to keep extra busy in order to be extra tired. It was a plan she thought was rather well thought-out ( ... )

Suddenly it didn't feel as cold here anymore.

Axel held her back, arms secured around her back as she pressed her body against him, and as the lingering scent of sugar and peppermint wafted by--it was on her skin and on her clothes--Axel shut his eyes, feeling content for once in a long while.

"That's why it's called a surprise, right?" With that he pulled away from her so that he could step further in and shut the door behind him. "C'mon. I brought you something."
