"Back so soon, kupo?"

"Dunno what you're talking about 'soon'. It's been a long time."

The little pig creature only fluttered it's tiny wings and tweaked it's nose, seemingly chortling to itself before it handed a small plastic bag over the shop counter to Axel. With a nod in thanks he accepted it and then turned to take off down the frosted ( Read more... )

Lenalee really did like the Westernization of the Holiday of Christmas. They never celebrated it much back in China and when the seasons rolled around, they celebrated about the Winter Solstice rather than Christmas.

So when she went to Europe and learned about the decorations and what not, she began to just- love it more than anything, especially with how warm everything was during the season.

Spending the day decorating, Lenalee hung up colors of the seasons along with a small tree for herself. She missed her family and her friends in this foreign town, but at least she could make herself happy and comfortable with the warmth of the season.

Blinking at the sound of a door knock, Lenalee stood up and brushed her going out party dress and hurried to the door.

"Hello?" She asked upon opening it.

As soon as the door swung open Axel hastily brushed a few flakes of snow off of his shoulders so that he could make himself a little more presentable and when Lenalee appeared decked out in that new party dress of hers he manage a smile. He'd missed her, to be honest, hence why he'd wanted to break free from work and come home sooner than later.

"Yo."

"Oh! Axel. Please come in and make yourself warm. It must be chilly outside." She said as she hurried to stand aside and kept the door open for him. "I put some tea preparing if you'd like a cup to keep yourself warm inside." She offered.

Shutting the door behind him, she hurried over to grab the laced shawl which she used to wrap around her bare arms. Part of her hair curled in silk ribbons around her arms but they hardly did anything to keep her warm. "I'm happy to see that so many places are nicely decorated for tonight."

He was quick to take her up on that offer and soon he was inside and shutting the door behind him. That done, he set his little plastic bag down on a nearby table and then looked around the room.

"You certainly pulled all the stops, too, Lenalee," he commented, noting the ornaments on the tree. "I knew you'd like this holiday, to be honest."

Tucking a few threads of her hair behind her ear she gave a shy sort of smile and glanced away with a gentle blush painting her face. "Ah- I do apologize if I went overboard. I enjoy the warmth some of the lights bring. It makes it feel extra Christmas-y I suppose you could say." She said. "I enjoy when things have a happy glow to them."

Wandering towards the sofa, she extended her arm. "Make yourself comfortable ah- unless there's somewhere else you have to be?"

She struck him as the "happy glow" type person, after all, so none of this was anything to apologize for. But that was all typial Lenalee, anyway--The "apologize for nothing" type of girl, too.

He nodded when she offered up the couch before he walked over and waited for her to follow.

"Only if you sit with me."

"Certainly." She said as she wrapped her shawl up higher on her bare arms and ventured over with him.

Smoothing the dress under her, Lenalee took a seat down on the lush sofa, rather big but comfortable none the less. The fire place had been going, alive and flickering hues of orange every which way. Ever since their meeting and their odd- whatever it's called between them, she had found more and more comfort in fire from it reminding her of him.

Once she was seated, Axel moved to sit beside her and state absently at the fire going on in front of them. It had been months since he'd seen a fire burn brightly like this, surprising considering his element, but he just never had the need to set one.

Sharing this sight with her was...definitely special.

After a while he looked over to her, the glow of the orange flames tinting the side of his face. "Is this the part where I say I missed you?"

Blushing faintly, she glanced up at him and watched as the lovely shades of warmth danced and flickered across his features. "Only if you mean it, of course." She said with a gentle smile.

With him sitting close to her, Lenalee turned her head and watched the flames again as the tickled over her features. Carefully, she laid her head upon his shoulder and continued to be entranced by their warm and hypnotic dance in the fire place.

He scoffed lightly at that before he rested his heed on top of hers, eyes still entranced by the fire and body overwhelmed with her own being so close.

"Fine. Then I missed you."

"I've missed you as well." She said with a small smile as she closed her eyes to nuzzle gently against his shoulder. "Happy Holidays , Axel."

Axel was silent for a long while, just resting, before he ended up reaching around to drape an arm around her shoulders and hold her even closer to his body.

"You too," he said as he turned his head to press his lips to her temple.

Another blush crept over her cheeks as he held on to her. Her eyes glanced away as something came to her mind but she quickly shook it away in favor of enjoying the natural warmth he brought that made her heart beat faster in embarrassment.

The kiss furthered her blush and shyly she turned her head and peeked up at him.

As soon as she was looking up at him Axel stared back, eyes glowing and catching the reflection of the flames in the fireplace beside them, before he ended up leaning in to press his lips to her own this time.

Warmth crossed over her cheeks as soon as she felt him lean in and kiss her. Hesitant at first, she gave in to her heart's desire and cupped his face softly while pulling him closer. Pursing her lips, she returned the kiss ever so sweetly with amethyst eyes fluttering shut.

He hadn't seen her in a long time, after all, so naturally he wanted to be close to her. Lenalee had been a very close person to him, after all, and Axel wasn't about to ignore her for any reason. What egged time than during the holidays, too?

When she returned the kiss, he carded a hand through her hair to cup the back of her head and try to deepen the kiss, lips parting.
