Gideon was surprised he was coming off as calm as he fucking was with this shit. Inwardly, he was a ball of nerves, which didn't get any better as he fucking stood up front. Everyone was gathered in a halfway decent set-up on the beach, and he knew all eyes were on him. While he didn't usually mind that shit, suddenly it was all in a different ( Read more... )

Daisy's just milling about the place in her little summer dress of white, ambling and not really committing. The last wedding she went to, she'd had to reap and that's just no kind of fun for anyone. Here, she knows she's just another guest, just another girl, not anyone who's unique or something else. She's just Daisy Adair and that's nothing special anymore.

But it's not her day. Not today.

Cecily always enjoyed a good wedding, even though she had never really attended one such as this before. But she was sure that ever she did attend another wedding such as this, she would enjoy it just as much. The knowledge that she and Jim were not to be married for some time did seem quite prominent as the ceremony had come to a close, but she intended to forget all her worries, be thankful that her dear friends were so happy, and make new friends with those Penny and Gideon were close to.

She made her way to the drinks and grabbed a cup of punch, surveying the room for Jim, who she had separated with momentarily and could not find, and anyone else she might know. Yet those faces that she was unfamiliar with seemed kind, and she eagerly awaited to speak to anyone there.

William came within an inch of bumping into her as he turned around. She was very pretty and appeared to be looking for someone. He blushed a bit, though whether it was from embarrassment or his drink, he couldn't tell. "Jeez, I'm sorry. I should really look where I'm going."

The punch that she was holding nearly spilled all over the floor and outfit, but she had filled the cup just enough that a small jolt would only threaten a disaster.

"Oh, no, it is quite alright," Cecily replied with a smile and a small laugh, "The world is far too interesting to just watch your feet!"

William tilted his head to the side, nodding. "Yeah, that's really true," he said, smiling at her. He held out his hand, saying, "my name's William, by the way."

After the last wedding he had attended, way back before the island, Ryan didn't really mind not knowing the bride or groom. Penny was a friend of Lucy's, so accompanying Lucy was a decent enough reason to go. At least, it had seemed so to him when he'd turned up, but now there was a reception and he was finding he didn't really know most of the people here. Somehow he always seemed to find himself gravitating to the edge of the crowd.

In the end it kind of reminded him of Amelia's wedding. This was a compliment of the highest order as he'd liked Amelia's wedding more than he had enjoyed Bianca's, not that he was going to tell either of them that.

He'd cleaned up for the occasion, dressed in the tux he'd arrived in, though with a blue shirt and no tie which he felt made it okay. It relaxed it and he wanted to be relaxed at the wedding of two of Eden's best friends that he had somehow been invited to. It made everything easier.

Penny hadn't stepped away from Gideon for long, but when she saw Grigg, she headed in his direction, a wide smile still set on her face. She had a feeling that wouldn't be changing anytime soon. And while she may not have known him well, she had her reasons for wanting him there, and they had hit it off pretty well, as far as she was concerned. "Hey," she greeted warmly, pausing to take a sip of her drink. "I'm so glad you made it. It's great to see you."

"Thank you so much for inviting me. It was beautiful." He grinned, gesturing to her and nodding approvingly. Which was a strange thing to think about because Penny didn't need approval from anyone let alone him. "You're beautiful."

"You're sweet," Penny said, an undeniably fond tone to her voice as she lifted one hand to her chest. She had always been confident in the way she looked, but it meant a lot here, coming from someone she hardly knew and just after she'd been married. "But no, I'm just glad you could make it. Are you having a good time?"

Ellie was in her element with this kind of party. She had missed the wedding just because she was setting things up, but it wasn't hard to see by everyone who had gathered that it all had went well. It was probably for the best, anyway. Seeing another wedding would probably make her start thinking too much of her own, and for the moment, anyway, that was all put on hold to help out with this one.

Staying near the food, she mostly was around to make sure things went smoothly with the things she'd brought over for the party. She didn't know too many around, but that didn't mean much with her. She was sure she'd find someone to speak to, whenever they wandered over to see what there was to eat.

"Someday," Serena announced, wheeling up to the table with a playful pout, "the real awesome van der Woodsen metabolism is going to break down on me and I will very suddenly become very fat, and I'm pretty sure that's going to be your fault." As she walked, her camera thumped against her side where her hand lay at her hip.

"But you'll enjoy it so much while it happens," she assured, letting out a laugh. She was pretty sure she could say the same about the Bartowski genes. Luckily, she had a feeling she'd always be on her toes when it came to her life here. "That's the important part."

"You are very wise," Serena said, mock-serious as she nodded. A grin broke across her face in the next moment and she migrated toward the desserts. "Are you enjoying yourself? You're back here all alone, though."
