Jim was glad things went on without a hitch. He stood aside once it was all over, still clad in the friar robes that had been made for him, and just enjoyed the pleased feeling he had about getting through another play. Sure, it hadn't been a big part this time, but he still thought he - and everyone - did a good job.

"I have never known you to be so holy," Veronica said, mock-solemn as she slid up beside him the crowd. It took a moment, but then a wide grin broke through and she gave his arm a light punch. "Good job, Halpert." She bit her lip, a note of pride in her voice.

"Have we not talked about that time I was announced to be a saint back home?" he joked, his grin mirroring hers. "I'm glad to see you've decided to grace our simple play with your presence, Councilwoman."

Even Veronica wasn't above preening, just a little, at the reminder of her renewed position on the Council. She'd been doing so for weeks, though more quietly now. It was like she couldn't remember anymore why she'd declined so many time. "Well," she said, chin tilting up as she raised her eyebrow, "I figured that, as a representative of the people, it was best if I... stay involved. In our little community."

Kate's never felt less like vomiting in her whole life. And lately, that's saying something. She's waited her whole life for this exact moment and to play this exact part and maybe she's a little overemotional lately, but she can't help but tear up when it ends. She owes Geoffrey the world for this chance and she just wants to get back up there and do it a thousand times over. Still dressed in Juliet's white shroud she makes her way through the crowd, beaming up at everyone.

Maladicta darted swiftly through the milling crowd to throw her arms around Kate and pull her into a strong hug.

"You were brilliant," she said honestly.

"The Queen Mab speech gave me actual chills," she responds, grabbing her hands. "Seriously, it was amazing."

"The bedroom scene," Maladicta shot back, "the lark exchange. It was stunning." They could probably go back and forth like this for a while. Kate's performance had been nuanced and alive in the extreme.

While Isabel hadn't exactly been a regular play-goer back at West Roswell High, there was no way in hell she was missing this production of Romeo and Juliet. For one thing, John Wilkes Booth was playing Tybalt. How many people could say they've seen him perform this role? No one back in Roswell, that was for sure.

For another thing, Octavia's mother was playing the Nurse. Though the woman had struck Isabel as dramatic in nature, Isabel hadn't thought that meant she was an actress. Though Isabel hadn't been able to run into Octavia to make plans to attend together, she hoped to run into her friend later when the crowd began to thin out.

But the ultimate reason Isabel wouldn't miss this production? Was because Pullo was making his stage debut. No way she'd miss that for anything -- because of the friend code of honor and the fact that it was Pullo. Acting ( ... )

"Isabel," Atia smiled warmly at her daughter's friend, the high of performing still filling her with a sense of contentedness. "Tell me now, did you enjoy the performances?"

"Hello!" Isabel greeted, a broad, genuine smile curving her lips. Rising, she nodded emphatically at Atia's question. "It was incredible, really. I never thought I'd see something so fantastic done in a place like this, but it was such an amazing experience." She caught sight of the girl who'd played Juliet out in the crowd and smiled before looking back at Atia again. "You and...Kate? Is that her name? You worked really well together. Have you done anything like this before?"

Good, the girl liked it. It made Atia's smile grow, the thrill of praise always the same, though not quite as pleasurable as if it had come from an admirer. "Me? Oh no, I've never acted before. This sort of thing would have been beneath us." There was part of her that wondered if it were not still beneath her; but considering the success of the evening she could not truly think so. "The girl is very good. Ill beforehand, a bundle of nerves I suppose. Talented though."

As Cecilia soaked up the absolutely stunning production she and Robbie had just seen, she could have sworn she spotted the William Shakespeare across the way. She'd heard someone call to him and he turned, lost among the throng of people. Scarcely able to contain herself, hardly daring to believe it truly was him, Cecilia smiled broadly over at Robbie before swiveling her gaze back to the now-empty stage. The set was truly evocative; it felt precisely as though she had stepped back into the past.

Each day Cecilia found something new about the island to appreciate, and today was no different.

"I take it you enjoyed the play?" Robbie asked, slipping an arm round her waist, although her enjoyment was clearly evident. Robbie had enjoyed it nearly as much as she, and he found himself idly wondering when the next production might be staged, as he had an inclination to be a part of it himself.

Cecilia settled contentedly into the circle of his arm, though she could not tear her eyes away from the set. "Very much so, yes," she murmured. Around them, Cecilia could hear various audience-goers discuss the play and wish cast members well. It was as though there was an electric buzz about the area; Cecilia found it all to be positively intoxicating. "I can't recall the last time I've seen a play proper, though I daresay I hadn't ever seen a bit of theatre with the likes of John Wilkes Booth before."

Stephen wasn't really sure why he had decided to go watch the play. It's not as if anything else happened on the island of bored souls, and he figured that a play was the closest thing to television.

Except for the actual TV, but Stephen didn't really want to be anywhere near Curtis and that Newbie guy again anytime soon. So the play, it was.

Too bad Romeo and Juliet was an incredibly boring play. Oh, everyone had done pretty good, he supposed, but come on. Shakespeare? It was just so done.

Oh, well. Stephen stood where he had sat, watching people mill about.

"What, no flowers?" Shawn asks, his bottom lip jutting out in a dramatic pout. "That's okay. I'll settle for your words of praise." He waves a hand, giving Stephen the floor. "Aaaaaaand begin."

Stephen blinked at Shawn.

"You were in it?" he asked, completely serious.

"You're joking, right?" As far as Shawn is concerned, he was the BACKBONE of the play, the glue that held everything together! With a much more sincere pout, Shawn snatches Stephens glasses clear off his face and peers up at the sun through them. "Are these things on?"
