"Toto! Come back!" cried a girl's voice, as Dorothy rounded the corner. She stopped suddenly, and stared. The first thing that came to her head, after she'd realized what was going on, was that it looked very fun.
"Hello! What are you doing?" she asked, stepping closer to the trampoline. Toto, however, kept his distance.

Creeping closer to the edge, Dorothy decided it might be easier to jump on if she were not wearing shoes. She stopped to slip off her penny loafers, and then pulled off her stocking for good measure. With her sleeves rolled up, she grabbed the edge, and climbed up as best she could. She'd no sooner set one foot on the bouncy surface than realized it was a lot more sensitive than she'd though. Wobbling barefoot toward the center, she tried not to make ti bounce TOO much.

"Keep it down to a dull roar, would you?" he said irritably, looking up from a Jane Austen book the bookshelf had finally seen fit to give him.

She continued to jump, trying to not make as much noise. As much noise though. No ten year old on a trampoline could be completely quiet.
