There's something about airplanes, Bee thought, as she peered out her tiny window at the world of pillowed clouds beneath the plane.  When you took a trip on a plane, you started in one place, complete with all its sights and sounds and smells, and then you got onto the plane, and in no time at all you were in an entirely new world - a world of ( Read more... )

It's about time that Tim stops being surprised by anything he sees, he knows that. After that weekend where most everyone turned into kids and that weekend of the fog and people in comas and the fact that there are people who look like Drew Barrymore and Captain Kirk and Han Solo all wandering around, there shouldn't be much that surprises him anymore.

However, watching someone just kind of appear out of thin air is a new one.

His brows furrow as he wanders closer and he can tell right away that she's confused by her surroundings and his frown deepens a little. Concerned.

"You alright?" he asks as he gets closer and it's only then that he notices that she's another one of those people who looks like someone else. An actress, only he can't remember her name. Something Danes.

Bee started a bit when she heard the voice, but quickly regained her composure. The boy who spoke was large, football player large, and kind of cute, even with the frown of concern across his brow.

"I'm okay, I guess, just..." She paused, looked around her, and then back at him, trying to laugh a little. "Where the hell am I?"

"Good question," Tim replies and it sounds kind of gruff, but there's a small lilt of his smile curving his lips and his eyes are soft.

That's about the best answer he can give, too and he almost smiles apologetically. "Name's Tim," he tells her since that he knows at least. "And you're new."

Tim's also always been good at stating the obvious.

At his response she felt serious uncertainty begin to weigh in her stomach. His little smile eased it just a little bit.

"Hey, Tim. I'm Bridget." She smiled at him, and it was the slightest bit forced, but who could blame her, under present circumstances? "To what, exactly, am I new?"

Chase had been soaking wet, prying on his rugby shirt and the ball that went with it when he caught sight of the new person on the beach. A flick of hair off his forehead and he debated just walking away, but wandered closer anyway. "Hey," he greeted. "Lost?"

Bee saw him coming, and wondered how he would react to her sudden presence. As he got closer she sort of recognized him. He looked like that guy from the show that Tibby sometimes watched, the one with the cranky older doctor and the team of attractive younger doctors.

She waited a minute before answering him, contemplating her new and confusing surroundings. She looked back to him. "I guess you could say that, since I don't have much of a clue where I am."

Chase studied her carefully, setting the ball near a rock where he'd be able to find it before extending a dry hand. "I'm Rob," he introduced himself. "Rob Chase. You uh, just showed then?"

Obviously, given her talent at suddenly appearing.

Bee shook his hand a bit warily. "Yeah, I just showed up here. I was on a plane with my friends, and I fell asleep, and..."

She trailed off weakly, realizing that her sudden disappearance from the plane would worry her friends horribly.

Gus was, in all fairness, not paying attention. He was arguing with Hamlet (about Mayko, but that, honestly, wasn't the point). When he nearly fell over a pretty blonde girl sitting on the sand, at least the pig had the good grace not to laugh at him.

"Shit," Gus said, with feeling. "I'm sorry. I didn't see you." He held out his hand. "Can I help you up?"

It was surprisng to Bee to fall asleep on an airplane and wake up on a beach, and it didn't really help to then almost be tripped over by a man who was talking to a pig. Fighting with him, sounded like.

She was worried about the man's sanity, and getting ready to inch away, but she was caught off-guard by his sincere apology and the concern in his voice. "It's fine," she told him, and took his hand, pulling herself up so she was standing. "Thanks."

"Are you new?" said Gus. "Because if you're new, I have to take a minute to go over the speech in my head."

He gave her a good natured grin.

"I'm Gus. Knickel. And this ill mannered reprobate is Hamlet."

"Um, I guess?" she laughed. "I don't really know what I'm new to, but if there's a speech involved, I'm not sure I want to." She grinned back at him, despite her growing feeling of fear and uncertainty.

"Hello, Gus," she greeted him warmly, and then, turning to the pig, said, "Hello, Hamlet. Nice to meet you both."

Annie was doing her reading on the beach, a men's black tee-shirt covering a bathing suit from the clothes box she didn't actually intend to get wet. Her stack of books was considerably smaller today - only three, though still all large hardbacks, two of them in the sand beside her as she read the third. She only looked up when she heard a noise, a voice, and found in front of her a young blonde who she was certain hadn't been there before. "Are you alright?" she asked, as she lowered the book and held it open against her chest.

Bee turned suddenly at the sound of the woman's voice, and relaxed when she saw what appeared to be a good-natured woman sitting next to several books.

"I'm okay, I think. A little surprised to be here, honestly."

It seemed like this was happening more and more often, and as a reflex, now, Annie smiled sympathetically. Clearly expectant of what had happened, she asked, "You just show up here out of nowhere?"

"Um, yeah. I was on a plane."

She looked around at the beach, the water and the thick jungle just past the sand, and worry began to gnaw at her. "Where am I?"
