J. K. Rowling has said that someone loved Snape. I can't help but feel that it must have been his mother, the former Eileen Prince. He put her maiden name in his private nickname, identifying with her in secret, perhaps deriving strength from that identification, while maintaining his father's surname in public. (
No 'Lord Voldemort' for him. )

The hedges are beautiful, by the way -- all the dots. It must have taken forever.

Here's my entry, "In the Knight Bus", based on "In the Omnibus". The other lady was even less used to riding the Knight Bus and is lying sprawled somewhere out of the frame - trust me, I know ;).

I'm glad you like what I did... But me, I keep wondering how you and jen_deben can have such control over that stupid mouse and draw so meticulously! You both have a wonderful sense of colour to. I feel like I'm just messing around a bit :D...

My entry is called "Children playing with kneazle." It depicts baby Severus on his mom's lap, playing with a kneazle, held by his cousin Arabella. (Well, I suppose they could be cousins!) It's based on Cassatt's "Children playing with a cat"
Here's the original:

I really think the drawing is kind of awful -- I don't know how other people managed such beautiful work with this artpad thing! ( you wouldn't believe I can actually draw in real life, would you?)
But I do think it's funny, and I'm glad you agree :)
As to how I posted the image, I grabbed it with grabber and then went to imageshack and had them host it. I'm not sure if you're a windows person. I have to admit I don't know how you grab things in windows (it's super easy on a mac).
Well, I had fun trying this contest -- & maybe I will try another in future.
I'm glad Mary told me about your community -- you're obviously a very nice and talented group of people.
Have a good weekend, and happy halloween!
