Have you read Life of Pi? I borrowed it off Eric Derrick and it was quite nice. The author has a lovely, vivid imagination. Some parts unexpectedly long (although not at all tedious... to me anyway). Crisp and intriguing imagery that I enjoyed very much.

Thanks for the recs! I've heard of Running With Scissors before so I'll check that out soon.

My tastes were quite... acute? ^^; I like reading memoirs and historical fiction. A lot. This year I also read some chic books... along with the classics you sent me. So quite a blend, I guess.

Haha... It makes me feel... so content ^^~

I think I heard of The Magicians Guild somewhere before... o_o; I swear I have. Will look for it next time I hit borders. *salutes*

Hmm.. here are some suggestions, but no real REASONS to read them. lol except:

Tales of the Otori Trilogy
- Across the Nightingale Floor
- Grass for His Pillow
- Brilliance of the Moon
I didn't really like this that much, it was good to begin with but the story telling is really basic. It's set in like a parallel feudal Japan.

Have you read Robin Hobb?
Farseer Trilogy
- Assassin's Apprentice
- Royal Assassin
- Assassin's Quest
Liveship Traders Trilogy
- Ship of Magic
- The Mad Ship
- Ship of Destiny
I haven't read the Tawny Man trilogy, but I like her story telling, though she often gets stuck reusing the same word sometimes.

Hmmm... what about Sara Douglass?
Troy Game Trilogy
- Hades' Daughter
- God's Concubine
- Darkwitch Rising
I really liked the way the Troy Games spreads throughout history as the people get reincarnated to continue their goal. Asterion the minotaur is what evil should be: relentless, calculated and a heartless killing machine hahaha

Garth Nix?
Abhorsen Trilogy
- Sabriel
- Lirael
- Abhorsen

Thanks to goldendelicius ... I have the Otori Trilogy. Hee.

As for Robin Hobb and Sara Douglass ... I've seen their books in the bookstore and have read the blurb several times but never actually bought any of their books. Maybe I'll try one out from the library first before I buy the book. ^^;

Haven't heard of Garth Nix and since you provided so-oooo little information. I will take a look at borders next time I go.

How about the Life of Pi? The book that tara mentioned. Willing to lend to a fellow IS student? ^^~

Hmm.. I like Robin Hobb better, Sara Douglass certainly writes nicely, but the Troy Game is really heavy reading.. at least that's what I think ( ... )

And people think I'm a bookworm. I don't read half as many books as you do (but I want to!) XDD I wish I buy books too, but I usually just borrow them from the library. I'm the type of person who'd read it once and never again so the books will just end up collecting dust somewhere in the corner of my room. ^^; And I'd only read it again if I forgot what I read and if I remember liking the book (and this happens pretty often ( ... )
