So far he's just got a sore throat but says he otherwise feels ok. He's gargling with a watered-down peroxide solution so we'll see if that helps at all.
Good idea, wearing the N95. I know way too many people that are catching this. The good news is none of them are dying from it.
Yes, personally I feel good that I'll be home for his surgery!! I'd really like to be there for him.
Yes, getting isolated in Vegas with flu symptoms was not fun. If only I'd had a fridge and a grocery nearby it would have been much easier. But also, I would have hated to be stuck here in Costa Mesa with a Mitsuwa right down the street and such beautiful weather, and not be able to go out. That would have been torture! So it's just as well, I think.
Indeed!! Very grateful to get out of there. It was just such a dirty seedy hotel, not having a fridge or grocery was a big inconvenience, and it was just not comfortable. This is a big improvement.
Four miles sounds like a lot to me for someone who still has Covid. But I'm sure you'll keep an eye on yourself and cut things short if you need to. Feel better soon. And I hope Jameson doesn't come down with symptoms.
Luckily it turned out to be only two miles because Boudin was on the way to Mitsuwa (my gps kept directing me to a different Boudin farther away for some reason). Two miles was easy and enough for today, with tomorrow being a full rest day. I'll ramp it up gradually.
Jameson has just a sore throat right now so he is ok. Thanks for the well-wishes!
RE: Jameson testing positive. Let him know if he needs anything while isolating he can call me/us. I can easily drop stuff off outside and ring the bell and walk away. I am glad you will be home in time for his surgery. I am sure it will make him feel better about getting the surgery now. But the offer still stands, if either of you need anything, let me know.
If you wake up in the middle of the night with a fever because your incision is infected, is your friend going to answer the phone at 4am to take you to the ER?
Um, yes. Because that's what friends do.
I am happy you made it out of Vegas alive and are situated in a much nicer hotel now. It sounds lovely.
Will do. He just ordered a bunch of stuff via Instacart today so I think he'll be fine. Thank you!!
I'm glad too. Boys are so ridiculous...I can't tell which it is but either he doesn't think he'll need me, or he thinks he should be able to "handle it", OR he doesn't want me to have to come home from tour early (which I offered but of course he wouldn't hear of it). Honestly!
I hope it does make him feel a little better, instead of worse.
I am also happy to be out of Vegas. Hotel is much nicer indeed, 90% due to having a refrigerator and 10% because it's reasonably quiet at night. Bonus points for having a Mitsuwa within walking distance. I'd pay rent on a cardboard box that close to a Mitsuwa lol.
Also, yeah, his friends MIGHT answer. But personally I turn notifications OFF when I go to sleep. Unless he specifically tells someone to leave theirs on, idk if he could be guaranteed a response in this figurative scenario! But it doesn't matter now anyway thankfully.

Hope Jameson is not too symptomatic and happy you will be with him for the hernia operation.
I'm back to wearing a N95 mask in all public inside venues.

It's a shame you hadn't been in this hotel when you were in quarantines
