New Years Eve.

Levi is ready, decked out in his party suit, and a lot of makeup. He's just finished his preparations, and he's sitting in his living room, waiting patiently for Cordelia to arrive, and then the guests. Of course, the party isn't taking place in his living room. That's much too small for such a large event ( Read more... )

A few minutes later, Cordelia arrives wearing this. She can't say she's not excited for the party - after all, it is a party, and parties are definitely within her range of 'beloved events ever'. She knocks on the door to be polite, and looks around to see if others have already arrived or not.

Nope, Cordelia's the first one. Levi's expecting this, so when he opens the door, he grins at her, pretty much incredibly excited. He moves out of the way so she can come inside, and he gestures for her to do so.

"Evening, Cordelia," Levi hums, clearly in a fantastic mood. "That is a beautiful dress."

"I know," she says, grinning widely right back at him. Pft, what humility? "I love your suit. Stylish and edgy and everything in between."

She steps in the mansion. "God, I am so excited - you have no idea."

Humility, psh, what's that? Levi chuckles, turning to lead the way to the basement. "I know," he replies, copying Cordelia.

"I'm excited as well." His tone definitely shows it, too. He's about this close to clapping his hands together in squee. "Parties are what I do best."

The suit had been hatched with the idea that it would entertain Chiana, but then Glitch remembered that she was gone. Long gone, even. But silver was still a good color, reminiscent of Nick Chopper's nickle plating and magic slippers and- okay, it matched the zipper, it was appropriate.

So he turned up at the party in the shiniest suit ever, smelling faintly of his fourth-wall gift, and tried to blend in. Good luck with that.

That shiny suit is like a flashing neon light, especially to someone like Levi, who's attracted to shiny things like a moth to flame. Of course, he's also the host, so like hell he's going to ignore anybody. This is about making good impressions, and hopefully, friends. Levi hasn't lived this long by having loads of enemies, after all.

"That is quite possibly the shiniest suit I've ever seen," Levi says, by way of a conversation starter. He's trying not to sneak up on people, but he does have a tendency to just pop up, holding a glass in his hand and looking very pleased with everything.

That tendency to pop up combined with Glitch's tendency to not being paying attention (okay, he was paying attention...to that bit of art over there, whatever it was supposed to be) contributed to a moment of being startled. There was the usual blink, then the vacantly cheerful smile.

"Oh? Ah, thank you!" Apparently the key to keeping folks from asking after the zipper was to dress even more interestingly than usual. Speaking of: "And and yours is...the spikiest I've ever seen."

"You're welcome," Levi replies, chuckling. "And thank you, as well. It's a favorite design of mine."

The zipper is what he notices next, but... seeing as it may be a sensitive issue, Levi doesn't ask. The burns on his own face are barely visible, but regardless, he doesn't want people to mention them. So, taking a sip from his glass, he continues with:

"I'm Levi. It's a pleasure to meet you." Insert hand-offering here. Yes, his skin is rather cold to the touch.

When the girls got their invitation, they hadn't debated long on whether or not to go. So they didn't know the names on the invite, but they were new. And they had to meet people somehow, so...

It had taken forever to figure out what they wanted to wear - those hatches equaled a massive variety to choose from - but had finally decided on something. They strolled on in, each step in sync, looking around the room.

It ain't no mutant prom, that's for sure.

The moment Levi sees the girls walk in, he finds himself intrigued. Identical in everything, movements, stride, appearance-- except for the dresses. It's only a matter of time before Levi strolls over, holding a wineglass in one hand, the other stuffed casual in his pants pocket.

"Red is definitely a good color for you three," Levi remarks casually, taking a sip from his glass.

Hurrah, more people Glitch knows! He meandered over to the Cuckoos with a grin and a bounce in his step.

"Good evening, um-" He looked from one to the other to...the other. And back again. Nope, those first names were gone from his conscious memory. "...girls. You're dressed differently."

Black isn't a bad color, by any means. Levi enjoys the color, probably wears a bit too much of it as well, but hey, he's fashionable. As long as he looks good, he doesn't care. And usually, black against his pale skin looks pretty damn good, so he sticks with what works. But, white is a fantastic color as well, though he definitely likes it better on others. Angel is no exception, and Levi's not going to let the guy get away with lurking when he's wearing such a good color.

The whole wallflower thing isn't going to fly. Not at Levi's party. So he slides up next to Angel, holding two wine glasses, one for him and one for Angel. He offers Angel the wineglass with pig's blood, having heard Cordelia talk about it before, and grins.

"You could go talk to her, rather than skulking in the corner," Levi tells Angel, smirking.

"No problem," Levi replies mildly. Absently, he's wondering how old Angel is. Really, Levi expects that he's the youngest vampire here, because he always is. Still, it's always fun to know those kinds of thing, especially because Levi is nosy, and enjoys history. It's a combination to be feared.

"Come now, Angel, honey. It's really sort of obvious," Levi hums. Or maybe it is just to him. He's spent enough time around Cordelia to figure out something is going on. "Go ask Cordelia to dance. I'm sure she won't object."

Party... Cool. Buffy remembered those. It had been a while since going to one which didn't include mass slaughter, but anyone who contacted her for such a thing was either worth knowing more about or was hosting an event for just about the entire population.

Which meant plenty of opportunity for causing chaos.

What she was wearing, was more in line with the Buffy of yore, but unless someone possessed the ability to detect a vampire at range, the turned Slayer had every intention of donning human guise. No facial ridges or fangs for her. Not on display, anyway. This was more a chance for skulking around to scout out prey and potential competitors.

That the interior was to her liking, helped matters, of course.

"Nice..."

Having no such ability, Cordelia will definitely be mistaking the vampire for the human, normal Slayer she's friends with. As such, when she spots Buffy - wearing something definitely circa-forgotten and weird - she raises a brow but doesn't comment on her attire. Yet.

"Hey Buffy!" she greets, handing one of her champagne glasses to the other girl. "Glad you can make it!"

"Oh, hey... Cordy."

The last time she had met her, was in the aftermath of graduating school. Using old pet names in person was different to doing it across a screen. Especially when Buffy was now a lot more certain of things truly being as they had seemed.

And if Cordelia was... Happy to see her, this was going to require some subterfuge. Like forcing on a smile and taking the champagne as if it still meant a damn.

"Here's to good times at Taxon," she toasted.

And exposed necklines...

"I hear 'ya," Cordelia replied, clinking her glass with the other girl's and drinking from it.

She looked around, trying to see if Buffy was alone - which, by all rights, she shouldn't be. "Where's--" Her eyes sparkled with mischief and she dropped her voice to whisper, "-you-know-who?"
