New Years Eve.

Levi is ready, decked out in his party suit, and a lot of makeup. He's just finished his preparations, and he's sitting in his living room, waiting patiently for Cordelia to arrive, and then the guests. Of course, the party isn't taking place in his living room. That's much too small for such a large event ( Read more... )

A few minutes later, Cordelia arrives wearing this. She can't say she's not excited for the party - after all, it is a party, and parties are definitely within her range of 'beloved events ever'. She knocks on the door to be polite, and looks around to see if others have already arrived or not.

Nope, Cordelia's the first one. Levi's expecting this, so when he opens the door, he grins at her, pretty much incredibly excited. He moves out of the way so she can come inside, and he gestures for her to do so.

"Evening, Cordelia," Levi hums, clearly in a fantastic mood. "That is a beautiful dress."

"I know," she says, grinning widely right back at him. Pft, what humility? "I love your suit. Stylish and edgy and everything in between."

She steps in the mansion. "God, I am so excited - you have no idea."

Humility, psh, what's that? Levi chuckles, turning to lead the way to the basement. "I know," he replies, copying Cordelia.

"I'm excited as well." His tone definitely shows it, too. He's about this close to clapping his hands together in squee. "Parties are what I do best."

Two peas in a pond. "Me too!" she squeals in glee. Then her expression softens a bit as she says, "Good thing most of your wounds have healed up by now."

Levi glances at Cordelia, keeping the smile on his face. They were definitely faded, just red lines across his face, easily covered up by makeup. "Mm, I assume the guests would be rather shocked if one of their hosts looked like a horror movie reject."

"Which you can easily blame on rough sex," Cordelia tells him, one eyebrow raised. "If they ask."

Oh dear lord, Levi isn't expecting that one, and if he'd been drinking something, it would've gone everywhere. Instead, he just chokes slightly and starts laughing.

"I wasn't expecting that from you, but yes, that is exactly what I'll tell them," Levi replies finally, still cracking up.

That's her! Quick-thinking girl. She rolls her eyes at him - but laughs as well. "Please. Lots and lots of things can be explained by rough sex - and people usually shut up right after. Very useful explanation, that."

Not that Cordelia really knows anything about it, since her and sex? Not a good combination anymore. Sob.

It seems like everything is already in place for the party. Still, she offers, "What do you need me to do?"

"Oh, I know. I'll take your advice to heart," Levi says, thoroughly amused. The basement is indeed all done up for the party, but the music hasn't started. In fact...

"Mm, well, I'd like to ask a favor of you, actually." He leads her over to the music, gesturing at it. "If you could keep an eye on the music for me? For instance, if for some reason the music stalls-- which I'm sure it won't-- you'll fix it, or other such things. Basically, I'm putting you in charge of the music. Is that alright?"

"No problem," Cordelia replies quickly. "I'll be Music Girl." Which will actually fit neatly with her plan to play some songs of her own.

"Oh, Levi, by the way - don't kill me if Mandy plays sometime tonight." She shrugs, delicately, but there's a definite sparkle in her eyes as she said, "It's... let's just say it's for a friend and that I had to."

"I have no objections to what you play, so long as you never play Lollipop. I despise that song with every bit of my being," Levi replies absently, adjusting one of the paintings on the wall. That song had been played so much in the 50's. And now that it plays in those dreadful Dell commercials, it's been stuck in Levi's head forever.

"Great! And no, no touching of Lollipop even with a 50-foot pole then. Mandy's the lowest of the low I'm willing to go for, believe me."

"Good, good."

Oh, there's the door. Levi grins at her, and heads to the stairs, though he does pause before reaching them.

"Oh, by the way, you owe me a dance at some point tonight," Levi tells her brightly, and then leaves without letting her get a word in. No arguments! Not that he thinks Cordelia will have any, but.

And this would be Cordelia, turning around and blinking rapidly for several seconds. "You came," she said, then added: "in something non-black!" The fact that they did match made her grin and throw her arms around him. Cordelia used to frown over something as overt and couple-y as matching colors, but this time? She didn't care.

"White suits you too, gorgeous."
