New Years Eve.
Levi is ready, decked out
in his party suit, and a lot of makeup. He's just finished his preparations, and he's sitting in his living room, waiting patiently for Cordelia to arrive, and then the guests. Of course, the party isn't taking place in his living room. That's much too small for such a large event

Donning Fred's appearance once again, she follows some of the people and descends towards the basement. Most of the people are unfamiliar to both her and the shell. Illyria goes to stand near the walls, merely observing.
Perhaps if she watches enough, she will finally come to understand how these unfortunate creatures work.

"Someone as pretty as you shouldn't be standing by the wall all alone," Levi hums, looking out at the crowd. "It's a sad thought, indeed."

"Oh!" Illyria says, shaking her head and saying, "Oh, I'm not really-- I'm just... it is?"
A sad thought. How peculiar.

He's behaving, but he's on the lookout for some way to bother her. Y'know, maybe by dancing with someone and pretending to bite them, only to pull away at the last second. That kind of thing.

Yes, Levi is hitting on your boyfriend, Buffy. Suck on that.

So.
Dexter makes it down to the basement after a long and nervous trek (almost tripping a few times on the way down, wonderful), not extremely dressed up (think this without the manbag), but A for effort. Once inside, he kind of glances around at all the people, scoping out the ones he knows aren't of the bloodsucking variety. Oh, Dexter. You go to a party with vampires, you're going to end up mingling with vampires.

"Dexter, hi!" This said with a big smile. "Thanks for coming!"

"Cordy! Hi!" At least he looks a little less nervous when he's smiling. "No problem... um, how's it going so far?" Casualties? Shut up, brain.

It gets kind of hard to block out thoughts when you're half in the bag.
He slips inside as discreetly as possible, wearing the good old clubbing-in-Toronto attire - a blue shirt, sleeves rolled up, and jeans - , and unintentionally looking less than cheerful. The room is loud with voices and thoughts, but the music is doing a good job of blocking out both. If he's lucky, he won't overhear much unless he's really trying.

"Hey there," she greets him with a soft smile, noticing his gloominess. "How are you, Toby?"
Reply
"Hey. I'm, uh - I'm pretty good. Great party." He glances around, indicating the room. "How've you been?"

Cordelia waves a hand. "Oh, you know - managing. Well, as one can in this place anyway. You alone?"

"May I offer you a drink?" It's almost like one can hear the tilde in that question.
Reply
"You may," he says in a tone that has just an edge of mock-imperiousness as he takes the offered glass. It seems he's in a good mood tonight; at least good enough for subtle, friendly teasing. It would suggest very good things about his slowly improving mental health, if Levi had known that it was ever in question.
His smile slips as his keen eyes take in Levi's burns. "You have yet to fully heal?"
Reply
Then Godric's asking him a question, and Levi blinks, looking over.
"Oh. They're healing. Slowly, but healing," Levi replies, making himself crush the urge to touch the burns. They're not as visible as they were when he spoke to Godric; more like red marks that can be covered by makeup, but they are still able to be seen. "I assume it's because whatever he did, it was magic. I have no resistance to it, being unused to it as I am."
