New Years Eve.

Levi is ready, decked out in his party suit, and a lot of makeup. He's just finished his preparations, and he's sitting in his living room, waiting patiently for Cordelia to arrive, and then the guests. Of course, the party isn't taking place in his living room. That's much too small for such a large event ( Read more... )

The invitation that arrived in her tablet has piqued Illyria's interest. A gathering of people; a party. She has accessed the shell's memories and discovers a past event, one celebrated within the confines of the Wolf, the Ram and the Hart's territory. Something with dancing, and rituals. Intriguing.

Donning Fred's appearance once again, she follows some of the people and descends towards the basement. Most of the people are unfamiliar to both her and the shell. Illyria goes to stand near the walls, merely observing.

Perhaps if she watches enough, she will finally come to understand how these unfortunate creatures work.

Levi's mistaking the people-watching for wallflowerness, but either way, he's still sliding up next to Illyria, giving her a little grin before sipping from his glass.

"Someone as pretty as you shouldn't be standing by the wall all alone," Levi hums, looking out at the crowd. "It's a sad thought, indeed."

A lowly vampire in her midst. Her lips twitch in distaste, and it takes her a few seconds before she can force them to part in what should be a passable, human smile.

"Oh!" Illyria says, shaking her head and saying, "Oh, I'm not really-- I'm just... it is?"

A sad thought. How peculiar.

"Yes. A sad thought that nobody has swept you off your feet yet. Or, maybe not a sad thought, but rather... ridiculous. I would think that such an event would have already happened," Levi shrugs, grinning down at her again. She looks like the shy type, and Levi is a fan of urging shy types out of their shells.

Fashionably late as ever (at this point it's not fashionable, it's just poor time-keeping) Buffy arrives, all prettified in a little black dress for the occasion. She almost wasn't going to come, considering the fact that she's not exactly Levi's favorite person-- but then she realized that it would be far more entertaining to attend and annoy him. So she's here, whistling in an impressed sort of way at the interior, as she slinks in.

Oh, Levi sees you, Buffy. And he makes a face from across the room when he does. Ew, Slayer. Still, it was a mass invite, so she was perfectly within her rights to come here.

He's behaving, but he's on the lookout for some way to bother her. Y'know, maybe by dancing with someone and pretending to bite them, only to pull away at the last second. That kind of thing.

Oh Levi, you should know that all vampire slayers have that innate vampire-sensing ability that alerts them to undead presence. ...which all means that she sees you too, and she sees that face and guess what? Levi gets a wink and a wave and a positively beaming smile. She truly is a pest.

Oh, Buffy, it is on. Levi just did this mentally, and is responding with horrors.

Yes, Levi is hitting on your boyfriend, Buffy. Suck on that.

When Dexter said that he was staying far away from the New Year's party in the vampire basement... well, it was a lie. The change of heart probably came from the dawning realisation that if a bunch of other people were going, he was doomed to spend the countdown surrounded by creepy pod people. At least the vampireness of the evening would have that vampire-slayers-are-present buffer.

So.

Dexter makes it down to the basement after a long and nervous trek (almost tripping a few times on the way down, wonderful), not extremely dressed up (think this without the manbag), but A for effort. Once inside, he kind of glances around at all the people, scoping out the ones he knows aren't of the bloodsucking variety. Oh, Dexter. You go to a party with vampires, you're going to end up mingling with vampires.

And non-vampires as well!

"Dexter, hi!" This said with a big smile. "Thanks for coming!"

The best kind of vampires, in Dexter's opinion. Non-vampires.

"Cordy! Hi!" At least he looks a little less nervous when he's smiling. "No problem... um, how's it going so far?" Casualties? Shut up, brain.

She gestures around them - at the attendees, the music, the food. Cordelia's proud of the outcome, and it shows in her expression - apparently she's not yet picking up on Dexter's paranoia. "It's been going extremely well," she replies. "Can I get you something to drink? I mean, you can drink, right?"

Toby had had no intention of coming to this party, had planned weeks ago to spend New Year's Eve with Olivia and the Winchesters. But now Olivia is gone, and Dean seems to be himself again, and for the first time in recent memory, Toby just wants to hang out and get drunk. And when Toby actually wants to get inebriated, it's a big deal.

It gets kind of hard to block out thoughts when you're half in the bag.

He slips inside as discreetly as possible, wearing the good old clubbing-in-Toronto attire - a blue shirt, sleeves rolled up, and jeans - , and unintentionally looking less than cheerful. The room is loud with voices and thoughts, but the music is doing a good job of blocking out both. If he's lucky, he won't overhear much unless he's really trying.

Cordelia looks around her and, seeing Toby, grabs an extra glass of champagne so she can hand it to him.

"Hey there," she greets him with a soft smile, noticing his gloominess. "How are you, Toby?"

Ohh, hey, Cordy. Toby accepts the glass with as much of a smile as he can manage, nodding in greeting.

"Hey. I'm, uh - I'm pretty good. Great party." He glances around, indicating the room. "How've you been?"

"Thanks," she says. "Though technically it's not just my party. I'm just a co-host."

Cordelia waves a hand. "Oh, you know - managing. Well, as one can in this place anyway. You alone?"

When Godric arrives, it's sans Eric, which is odd enough all on its own. But there's nothing in his demeanor to suggest anything is wrong, and he's decked out in a suit that's far more dressed up than his usual extremely casual attire. He looks around appreciatively at the work Levi's put into the event and the growing crowd. He only hopes no one ruins the night by trying to stake him.

Levi's taken a great liking to Godric, so of course, the moment he sees him, Levi edges his way through the crowd, holding two glasses in his hand, both filled with some of the best blood Levi's ever tasted. When he reaches Godric, he offers one of the glasses, grinning.

"May I offer you a drink?" It's almost like one can hear the tilde in that question.

Godric smiles at Levi's approach, which turns into something wry and amused at the suggestive inquiry.

"You may," he says in a tone that has just an edge of mock-imperiousness as he takes the offered glass. It seems he's in a good mood tonight; at least good enough for subtle, friendly teasing. It would suggest very good things about his slowly improving mental health, if Levi had known that it was ever in question.

His smile slips as his keen eyes take in Levi's burns. "You have yet to fully heal?"

Levi chuckles at the response, taking a sip from his own glass, and glances around the crowd. It's pretty successful so far, and Levi's hoping it's going to stay that way. He has no idea if there's been parties here with vampires and humans together, but he's hoping no fights are going to break out because of it.

Then Godric's asking him a question, and Levi blinks, looking over.

"Oh. They're healing. Slowly, but healing," Levi replies, making himself crush the urge to touch the burns. They're not as visible as they were when he spoke to Godric; more like red marks that can be covered by makeup, but they are still able to be seen. "I assume it's because whatever he did, it was magic. I have no resistance to it, being unused to it as I am."
