New Years Eve.

Levi is ready, decked out in his party suit, and a lot of makeup. He's just finished his preparations, and he's sitting in his living room, waiting patiently for Cordelia to arrive, and then the guests. Of course, the party isn't taking place in his living room. That's much too small for such a large event ( Read more... )

McCoy actually had no intention of coming to this New Year's party either when he received this invitation; but this was a decision that was rapidly changed when he saw the 'H' at the bottom of his invite and so, with great reluctance, he decides to turn up at the party. Not one for social functions, the good doctor finds the nearest wall to hug for the remainder of the evening shortly after he arrives, not really bothering to dress up for the occasion, but not wearing his Federation uniform either.

Very much sigh.

Sorry H, but you're now going to get trolled. In person.

Grinning, Cordelia approaches the good, kind doctor and asks, in all innocence, "So. Where's the bank?"

He would have expected it no other way. Their first encounter had been in the transporter room and even then, he had been distracted by squabbling with Jim instead of paying attention to her group of friends trying to torch another place.

"I didn't want to be here." He retorted automatically in response to her jab at his wintery clothing compared to everyone else. Taxon decided to be cold and a man from Georgia does not like the cold.

Psh, it'll be warm soon anyway.

"Oh come on, H," Cordelia said, rolling her eyes at him. Geez, was he always coiled up tighter than a... rattlesnake, or something? "It's a party. Why would anyone not want to be in a party?"

No really. Enlighten her.

Dean's had a crappy week. As usual. Really, his life just sucks in general, he thinks. So when he gets an invite to a party in what he's dubbed 'Vampire Territory', he feels like smacking his head against the wall repeatedly. He knows Buffy's going, so he knows there's going to be a Slayer there, but... she probably could use some backup.

So Dean stops living in his Impala (which he's been doing since he glitched back to human from... whatever the hell that had been) and drives to Levi's mansion, rolling his eyes at the whole thing. Jeeze. Fancy vampires.

So that's how Dean ends up lurking in the far corner of the room, quiet, with a drink in his hand and a stake (he wanted to take the crossbow Buffy gave him for Christmas but it was too big) in his pocket. Stakes are still dumb, to him, but... they seem to be effective on these things, so. Go with the flow.

He's giving off a 'I'm the goddamn Rat Dude' vibe, here.

He looks like a Rat Dude, actually. But she's a hostess, so she'll forbear.

"Hey, Dean," Cordelia greets him, fulfilling her duty to go and talk to people no matter how... weird and overall unpleasant they are. "So good of you to come. Feels like I haven't talked to you in forever, doesn't it?"

Ack, person talking to him! Dean doesn't flinch, trained in not showing his surprise at anything, but he does give her a rather irritated glance. It isn't Cordelia's fault, he's just having a bad... er, life.

"Hey, Cordy," he replies, straightening his oversized jacket. Here's a person he can talk to, actually, because she doesn't know the horrible stuff he's done lately. Good. "Been a while, yeah. Everything going alright?"

"Yeah, you know... just been busy with normal stuff." Cordelia looks around them. "Sam isn't with you?"

Oh, hello, attractive young man, Levi is interested in you. Not for anything serious, obviously, because... well, Shane, but there's no harm in flirting, straight guy or not. Also, once he gets a little closer, Levi realizes it's that Kirk kid, the one Buffy is dating. Hell yes, opportunity to bother the Slayer taken.

Levi makes his way to the bar, and slides behind it, grinning at Kirk.

"Looking for a drink?"

It's because he's probably the straightest man in Taxon. There's something about straight guys that makes Levi want to flirt in ridiculous and outrageous ways. Levi goes through his selection of alcohol as he speaks, seeing what he has. Which is a lot, seeing as the hatches are a goldmine for this kind of thing.

"Just about everything. What would you like?" Levi replies, and his tone could be taken as rather... suggestive.

Uhura had been surprised to get an invite, given that the last two times she and Cordelia had spoken, one or the other had been glitched. She'd gone back and forth over whether or not to attend for a while, but ultimately decided that getting out and socializing was better than wallowing. So she'd hatched herself a dress and entered the party, looking in awe at the decorations.

Never, had Siri worn anything like this in her life, but it was what the hatch had produced for her when she went to it to find something that was more New Years appropriate so she could attend this party in something that wasn't her usual Jedi garb. She even went as far as to let her hair down for the occasion and took comfort in the fact that she seemed to blend in with the other women at the party to help ease how awkward she felt wearing something that was more suited to senators.

She eyed the decorations, ever fascinated by the costumes of the humans from this Earth, coming to stand next to a woman who seemed to be admiring them as well. "I assume they serve some sort of purpose," she asked in that clipped Coruscanti accent of hers.

"I think they just fit the theme of the party," Uhura replied, turning to the woman with a small but friendly smile. "Not quite sure what the theme's supposed to be, though."

"The New Year, the invitation said." She returned that smile. "I'm new to these celebrations. We don't recognize the changing of years like this where I'm from." There were worlds that did, but the Jedi Order didn't celebrate it in any way unless it was something members of certain species did for their culture's sake.

Nodding her head politely, Siri offered, "I'm Siri Tachi."

Personally, Cam didn't know many New Years parties to be particularly black-tie affairs. Thus, he refused the idea of wearing a tie entirely. He was not a big fan of ties. That said, the one thing his room furnished him--because Christmas aside, he was still not enthusiastic about the hatches--felt as if he might as well be wearing one.

He told himself the lack of one gave it a casual enough air to fit with a New Years party.

Oh, but that suit was just fantastic. He'd fit right in!

As such here was Cordelia, coming straight at you Cam. "Hey there!" she said. "Glad you can make it!"

The guy's face looked familiar. Hmmm.

He still vastly preferred smaller NYE parties, where the dress code was jeans and cheap alcohol. These sorts just reminded him of the formal events the Air Force prodded him into attending from time to time.

The woman who approached him was vaguely familiar, but he wasn't certain how. It was possible she was among those who appeared on the tablet on a semi-daily basis. Those faces had become somewhat familiar without his actually getting to know them.

Or perhaps she hosted this event, and he knew her thusly? Either way, he offered her a pleasant smile. "Thanks. S'a pleasure to be here."

"Oh, you betcha," she replied. "We aim to please for this festive night. Have you met Levi? He's the host for this party. I'm just... part of the welcoming committee, I guess."
