New Years Eve.

Levi is ready, decked out in his party suit, and a lot of makeup. He's just finished his preparations, and he's sitting in his living room, waiting patiently for Cordelia to arrive, and then the guests. Of course, the party isn't taking place in his living room. That's much too small for such a large event ( Read more... )

The invitation that arrived in her tablet has piqued Illyria's interest. A gathering of people; a party. She has accessed the shell's memories and discovers a past event, one celebrated within the confines of the Wolf, the Ram and the Hart's territory. Something with dancing, and rituals. Intriguing.

Donning Fred's appearance once again, she follows some of the people and descends towards the basement. Most of the people are unfamiliar to both her and the shell. Illyria goes to stand near the walls, merely observing.

Perhaps if she watches enough, she will finally come to understand how these unfortunate creatures work.

Levi's mistaking the people-watching for wallflowerness, but either way, he's still sliding up next to Illyria, giving her a little grin before sipping from his glass.

"Someone as pretty as you shouldn't be standing by the wall all alone," Levi hums, looking out at the crowd. "It's a sad thought, indeed."

A lowly vampire in her midst. Her lips twitch in distaste, and it takes her a few seconds before she can force them to part in what should be a passable, human smile.

"Oh!" Illyria says, shaking her head and saying, "Oh, I'm not really-- I'm just... it is?"

A sad thought. How peculiar.

"Yes. A sad thought that nobody has swept you off your feet yet. Or, maybe not a sad thought, but rather... ridiculous. I would think that such an event would have already happened," Levi shrugs, grinning down at her again. She looks like the shy type, and Levi is a fan of urging shy types out of their shells.

"Swept me off my feet," she repeats. The phrase itself was unfamiliar to her - but then the spasms in her function system react on their own and when Illyria opens her mouth, she knows just what to say. "Oh, it's, um... I'm just waiting for someone. For Wesley. Do you know if he's here? I should go and see him if he is."

"I haven't met anyone named Wesley, no, but I'm sure I could keep an eye out for him, if you'd like," Levi replies. "Is he the party-goer type?"

The question makes her giggle. "No, he's the library-goer type," she replies. "But... but he's - we're - friends with Cordelia." Illyria points at the woman in white in the crowd. "I'm Fred Burkle." She offers the vampire a small wave.

"I see, I see," Levi chuckles in response to the library bit. He knows a few people like that. He blinks when Cordelia is mentioned, and glances at her. "Oh, you know Cordelia? She's a friend of mine, as well."

He waves back. "Levi Blakely. It's a pleasure."

"Oh, really?" Illyria asks, nodding and tucking an errant strand of hair behind one ear. "That's nice. We... we're both from LA. We both work for Angel. Do you know him, too?"

The God King may be donning Fred's appearance, but her presence still feels the same to the Force-sensitive woman. Curious about why Illyria is making herself look like a human instead of the blue demon she had seemed so proud to be, Siri approaches.

"Trying out a new look?"

The smile on her face feels even more forced, now.

Illyria turns her gaze on the woman beside her. "What do you mean?" she says, innocently looking down at her form and even smoothing out her dress. "Oh, gosh - do you think this is too revealing? Oh, I knew I should have worn something else."

"You should know that the auras of individuals don't change with their looks." It helped give her away when Anakin Skywalker had blown her cover when she was masquerading as a slave trader in attempt to take down slaving routes. Many could hide their presences if they were good enough, but masking it was something entirely different that Siri wasn't even sure Master Yoda knew how to do. "Yours is particularly bright, strong, and unmistakable."

However, seeing as Siri doesn't consider Illyria a threat and doesn't see the harm in her donning the appearance of someone she's (assumingly) not, only merely curious as to why, she adds, "I won't say anything."

A memory of Wesley demanding why she has changed her appearance to Fred's flashes, and Illyria levels a serious gaze at the Jedi.

"I appear as I choose," she says, repeating the line. "I thought this form will be more appropriate, for this gathering of inferiors."

Siri nods in understanding. Choosing something that was appropriate for this gathering was something she could relate to-- after all, it was why she was wearing this red dress instead of her Jedi garments and wasn't carrying her weapon.

"You have the ability to alter your appearance at will?"
