Firstly, let me thank my flist for all the condolences on Ed and well wishes about my medical hooha. ::hugs right back::

Ed died about half an hour ago. His daughter and ex-wife were out discussing the memorial service. But the nurse was with him, and he's breathing just basically got slower and softer and finally just stopped. Mom thinks he wouldn't have wanted to burden them with his death moments anyhow.

The service will likely be in two weeks.

Looks like Eddie is on his final legs. He was hospitalized on Thursday. Well the hospice care at the hospital anyhow. He can no longer speak. They don't know about his eyesight, but they think he can still hear. Mom thinks it will only be a couple days more.

Yah! My new portable lightbox arrived today. It's so wee. Seriously, I swear it's not much bigger than my PSP. It's charging now. I should be able to use it Saturday morning. It won't finish it's base charge before I go to bed tonight. Now I just have to send in my forms to the insurance company and see if they'll cover any of it ( Read more... )

So, with Ed. The adult care facility Ed moved into on Friday looks like it's going to work out well. He can stay until the end. They've already ordered all the equipment he might need (respirator, ex-large wheelchair). They already had a long bed for him, as the one there was too short for him. My cousin in Seattle has three cats and a bird. I've spent most of my time whistling to keep the bird from using shrill whistles to get my attention. The bird is named Yoda. Grandma is still hospitalized. She had a CT scan at one. She fell asleep as soon as she got back to her room. She was still sleeping eight hours later. Still waiting for the results of the CT. The doc thought the bleeders had stopped this morning, but again, no results yet ( Read more... )

So Gramma Billie (mom's mom) managed to fall and get stuck under a coffee table. In her closet. Don't ask. Anyhow, Billie was unconscious when they found her. So she was hospitalized, but because they detected hemorrhaging in her brain, she was airlifted from Cut Bank to Great Falls. The fall happened on Saturday, she was airlifted Sunday morning.
