Someone asked me for a reason that I think Sam and Dean are still watchable characters that has nothing to do with them being hot. I had a lot of reasons lined up, but then I realized that isn't the issue. Obviously this person has fallen out of love. That's okay, it happens. (Both in real life and in fandoms, of course.) The reason I can't quit Dean is that he alternates between being the ultimate epic and the ultimate tragic hero.

The reason I can't quit Dean is: he rebuilt the Impala AGAIN.

The reason I can't quit Sam is: the wall is down and he's STILL WALKING.

The reason SamnDean still own me is: BROTHERS TOGETHER AGAINST THE WORLD!!!

The reason SamnDean still own me is because they're so human. They're brothers - they hurt each other, argue, butt heads but they will do anything for the other one. You can't have one without the other. They're heroes, they're both different yet the same. They each are individually flawed with different strengths and weaknesses which to me makes them relatable and so human. They support each other and hold one up when the other is down. They keep each other human. The reason i fell in love with this show was because of these two brothers and these two brothers alone. Yes i love the horror element, the impala and some of the supporting characters but what it all comes down to is two brothers and their love for each other.

The reason I can't quit Dean is : He is a huge hero who is massively damaged. But he is also devoted to his brother and wears his emotions on his sleeve -- even though he'll deny it to his dying day.

The reason I can't quit Sam is: He never had a chance or a choice. He is full of secrets and tragedies and so much anger and grief and pain. And he just can't seem to catch a decent break.

The reason SamnDean still own me is: They are brothers in the truest sense of the word, more than just by an accident of genetics. They truly love and care for and are devoted to each other. They are each other's Thousandth Man.

Yes, they CHOOSE to be brothers. That is a massive draw for me as well.
