3. I can definitely get used to checking out books from the Multnomah County Library. It is good to shift paradigm from wanting to buy books, versus borrowing from the library. Of course, there will be certain books which I would like to acquire for my personal collection, such as reference books, cookbooks, and piano music anthologies.

*applause*

Portland's library system rocks the casbah! You've so been missing out! :-D Check out their new books section/webpage list too, it was my favourite way of finding really unexpected things that I'd have never thought to look for.

Also, on glasses, spring for the good lenses. OMG it is the most amazing difference! I got the lightest Nikons they had and the clarity is just mindboggling. It's like getting new eyes! I had no idea how much difference it would make. I love titanium frames, do the rimless. I have steel right now since these frames didn't come in titanium, and they are only a tiny bit heavier for another nice strong option.

You might also want to try www.bookmooch.com

Send out unwanted books, and get different books in return! It's not really for the impatient though.

Steeler game at the Hedge House - tomorrow, 5:15!

Sometimes, Portland's "weirdness" is homogenous. Geez, another black-wearing dirty cyclist. How original!

Hedge House indeed! I will be there right after work, around 7-ish.

Keep Portland Wired!

Speaking of recipe books and being hungry like the wolf, I obtained a copy of the book you were considering, "660 Curries," and it is fantastic. I highly recommend it!
