Chapter 1 "I am perfectly capable of washing three puppies. I mean it's Cara, Dahlia and Denna. They're always on their best behavior." Kahlan exclaimed as Richard held Denna to his chest possessively, looking something akin to a two-year-old, his bottom lip jutting out slightly, "Don't worry, I'll take good care of her." She smiled and held her arms out, smiling more when he reluctantly placed the blonde pup in her arms.
Richard sighed as he watched Kahlan cradle the dirt covered pup in her arms, "I need to go question that Mord'Sith... find out why she betrayed Darken... figure out if it's a trick or not."
Kahlan nodded, still smiling, "And can you please figure out what Zedd put Darken in? It was highly amusing."
"He's trying to figure out why the magic is acting up... he was attempting to freeze Darken not put him in that... skintight... thing, which, by the way, I need to see that personal councilor you keep on retention..." Richard breathed, shuddering as another mental image of Darken in that thing popped into his head.
"I think he's dealing with a few of the Home Guard right now. I heard the Captain using words like 'traumatized'... 'repressed'... 'emotional'... 'feelings'... 'violated'..." She shook her head, "Zedd scarred my personal guard quite successfully. Maybe we should consider putting him in charge of interrogation?" Denna let out a relatively intimidating growl (or at least it would have been had she been facing a squirrel or a rodent) and Richard bent over, patting her head, moving to scratch behind her ears.
"Don't worry, she wasn't being serious. You'll still be in charge of interrogation when we turn you all back to normal. She knows better than to put a Mord'Sith out of work. The last time that happened the man in charge of job placement had his skull cracked open."
Kahlan glared at him, "Raina still needs to pay for that poor man's healer bill."
"When they're all back to normal I'll talk to Berdine. You know she has Raina wrapped around her Agiel."
Kahlan offered him a smile, "You should probably go speak with that Mord'Sith... Garen was it?"
Richard nodded his head, leaning down again to place a kiss on top of Denna's head, "Be good for Kahlan, Denna." He turned on his heel and stalked down the hall, the palm of his hand resting against the hilt of his sword, fingers drumming lightly against it.
Kahlan lifted a very disgruntled (and mucky) Denna up so she could look the pup in the eyes, "You'll be good right?" Denna responded with what she hopped was the equivalent of a smile, "Good." She kissed Denna on the nose, scrunching her face up when the Mord'Puppy gave her a slobbery lick, "Mm... thank you... very much... Denna..." Kahlan muttered, rolling her eyes before holding the pup out at arms length.

Dennee snorted as she washed Berdine and Raina in the small basin; the two Mord'Puppies were rather enjoying their baths, tails wagging in the water. Kahlan was having a completely different experience at the moment, it appeared as though Cara, Denna and Dahlia had decided the Mother Confessor was in more need of a bath after the events in the woods with Darken Rahl. It was her sister's own fault though, Kahlan had agreed to give Denna and Dahlia a bath while Richard questioned the Mord'Sith who betrayed Darken Rahl (currently in his odd clothing down in the dungeons). Dennee didn't understand who in their right mind would give the three fussiest and pickiest Mord'Puppies baths... at the same time. The second she turned back to focus on cleaning Berdine and Raina her attention was pulled back to Kahlan when a rather loud splash and a slight squeal echoed in the wash-room.
Dennee bit her tongue, trying not to laugh at the predicament her sister had gotten herself into
Kahlan groaned as she sat up awkwardly in the small wash basin, fully soaked now, legs and arms dangling over the sides, the water barely coming up to her middle.
The three culprits were looking triumphantly on from the sidelines and a few of the servants began to snicker, pausing in their washing of the other Mord'Pups.
They would later discover that those precious seconds were what led to their ultimate downfall.
Berdine and Raina pounced, the shock and awe tactic allowed them to tackle Dennee to the ground, shaking the water from their fur immediately before jetting off towards the original three rebels along with dozens of other pups [cue some sort of dramatically appropriate background music].
Kahlan sat up awkwardly in the small tub and her eyes widened, "Catch those puppies!" She ordered the servants (and volunteers) quickly jumped up to chase after the now escaping, four-legged insurgents.
~
Kahlan bit her lower lip as she peered around the corner, Dennee's hand's gripped her waist as the other woman leaned over her, peering around as well. Four puppies were standing guard rather diligently in front of an open door, looking quite focused.
"We need to distract them." Kahlan hissed and Dennee nodded, biting her bottom lip, leaning back for a second to rifle around in her skirts, thrusting a hand out with a red ball clutched firmly in her fingers, "What is that?" Kahlan asked, glaring at the object.
"Something no Mord'Puppy can resist." Dennee smirked and flexed her hand; a squeak emitted from the ball and Kahlan watched as the four pups perked up, their eyes widening, tails beginning to wag.
Dennee flexed her hand again and Kahlan knew this battle was won, the four pup's tongues lolled out and they rushed towards the sound; Dennee flexed it again before throwing the ball down the hall with all the strength she could muster. The four puppies skirted around the corner, tripping over each other as they tried to get to the ball first. Dennee smiled successfully, watching the ball bounce off of the walls and down down the stairs, the pups following earnestly,
"Nice." Kahlan grinned and looked back at the open door, "Lets catch us some puppies..." She turned and looked down the corridor, nodding the volunteers.
The small group quickly rushed around the corner and one of the volunteers (a large, pure blooded, D'Haran man) slammed his shoulder into the door, knocking it fully open. Kahlan's eyes narrowed to slits when she saw a group of puppies surrounding the bottom step where Cara, Dahlia and Denna were sitting, dozens of tails were wagging as the trio barked.
"Cara..." She growled, moving through the puppies towards Cara, grabbing the puppy by the scruff of her neck, pulling her up.
"Raina! Berdine!" Dennee snapped her fingers, pointing down and glaring as the two puppies rushed over, tails and ears down.
Richard came barreling into the room, bending over to put his hands on his knees as he panted, "I heard... rebellion..." He panted, lifting his head to level his gaze at Denna as she moved towowards him, ears down, "Awe..." He quickly lifted her up, cradling her to his chest, "Are you such a good Mord'Puppy?" He asked, scratching behind her ears, "Trying to dominate Aydindril with your mighty powers of cuteness."
The Mord'Sith that had followed him merely rolled her eyes and grabbed Dahlia up, glaring down at the dark blonde pup. She rolled her eyes once more before walking out, muttering about fluffy animals and how they should never be used with Mord'Sith in the same sentence.
The volunteers set to the task of picking out which Mord'Puppies were which, having a relatively easy time; Kahlan attempted to glare at Cara again, failing when the green-blue eyes looked up at her miserably. She dropped her Confessor mask and rolled her eyes, pulling Cara to her chest and rubbing the pup's head.
"It's not fair. I can't stay mad at you." She shook her head, "Now... come on." She muttered, carrying Cara out of the small room.
~And now for fluff! FLUFF I SAY!~
Kahlan smiled as Cara rolled around on the giant bed while she diligently rubbed Cara's tummy, "Who's a good little Mord'Puppy? Who's a good little Mord'Puppy?" She asked and Cara yipped, squirming around on her back, tongue hanging out, paws flailing, tail wagging excitedly, "Trying to take over Aydindril with your supreme powers of cuteness." She shook her head, "You really just want to make things difficult don't you?" She asked, smirking, wiggling her fingers when she hit a particular spot on Cara's belly, one of her hind legs twitching excitedly.
