Summary: Denna gives us a little taste of what it's like to live in the Mord-Sith dollhouse.
Notes: On a fine afternoon not too long ago, I was commuting home from work, playing around with my iPod. I stumbled upon this song and after two seconds I found myself literally like this 0_o (and yes lol, I tend to listen to vid songs all the time on the train to and from work and my expression does look a bit odd if something clicks) because suddenly there it was. A Denna vid! \o/
But what started as a simple character study soon evolved into what I now hope is A Bit Of Meta In Vid Form. Something you can really sink your teeth into. Because Denna is just our way into the Mord-Sith collective. We know most about her. But it's bigger than just one Mord-Sith. It's all of them, and even more. It's the Confessors. In episode 15 we find out that the first Confessor was man-made and I really wanted to play around with that idea, weigh it against the process of creating a Mord-Sith. Even if one is good and one is evil, ultimately they're both puppets of a stronger hand. That means Giller and Zedd, Richard and Rahl. They're all puppeteers of old and new. And what I love most about both subsets of these women is how much I feel for them as a result of who they are and the wrongs that were committed upon them. Obviously this is more pressing for the Mord-Sith since the Confessors evolved to be puppeteers themselves (how do you like them apples?), and I felt this song really brought out the truth of the matter.
Also...I think I secretly enjoy Constance a bit too much. IDEK!
