My Livejournal is ten years old! Either today or yesterday, depending on how you count. Not sure if a few hours make much difference really anyway in the grand scheme of a decade.

I'm planning to write some kind of retrospective in a bit. Perhaps later today, perhaps another day. Either way, I felt like making this entry as a note of sorts.

I want to see the first ever roller derby bout in Coventry yesterday, organised by the Coventry City Derby Dolls. I've been vaguely following the team's emergence from a (safe!) distance for some time now so it was awesome to go and see them play. The giant screen in the middle of Warwick campus was showing women's football. It genuinely seemed odd that every time the camera zoomed in to show a player kick the ball or celebrate or complain about something, the player was a woman. Even the referee was a woman. The rather fantastic Sonic Boom Six album City of Thieves just synched perfectly with my journey. I turned on the eponymous opening track as I left the our drive, and the closing notes of "Floating Away" faded out literally as I reached the door to my office. Talk about timing!

I've decided to start posting new, as-yet unused Not Right lyrics here for your pleasure and amusement. Or, more realistically, 'cos I usually want to share them somewhere, like now when I've written them, so it's probably more about narcassism.

My dad sent me an email recently saying that he didn't really understand why I was so angry.
