Just watched "Bolt" with Joe and Katie. It was silly, and fun. But a mild surprise came with the credits.

John Tavolta...Miley Cyrus...and Motörhead? There's three names I never expected to see alongside one another.

I'm on a Chiltern Rail train from Leamington to London for an afternoon meeting about LGBT health research organised by GLADD (Gay and Lesbian Association of Doctors and Dentists). I'm listening to the fantastically overblown and generally HUGE new Turisas album. All those TRIUMPHANT horns make the act of completing a difficult paragraph in my current paper all the more EPIC. Hail to metal!

I watched The English Patient with Joe last night. About halfway through I said "this isn't very good, is it?" Joe agreed. It only got worse really.

Honestly, I think there's few other films that achieve such an incredible level of overblown melodramatic tosh without even offering you any real emotional investment in the characters. Gah!
