I don't support this suggestion, for all the reasons stated in previous comments.

I would heartily support a more visible way to access current controls - users can already set feeds to display the title and full entry, title and first few lines, or title only, but that setting is only accessible via the admin console.

I didn't even know that we could control what goes out into the RSS feed at all.

The admin console shouldn't be the only way to do things like this.

Isn't it already possible to control how much of your entries is shown on your feed?

From the FAQ:
By default, all of the entry text will be present; you can change that by going to the Admin Console and using one of the following commands:
set synlevel title
set synlevel summary
set synlevel full

LiveJournal often takes the stand that users should have full control of their content

LiveJournal also often takes the stand that if it's public, it's public.

If a "friend" takes your locked content and puts it in the public arena, that's a problem with your friend, not with the RSS system.

Public is public.

If you're worried about stuff getting out, set minsecurity to FO. If you can't trust your friends not to share your stuff, then you need to use better friend vetting or use smaller custom friends groups for that kind of sensitive info.

Having it be easier to set feeds to title only would be nice, though.
