Wow, I feel violated...

So, I got the call last night, around 6pmish- they found my car. In Oakland. And arrested the punkass who had it. Some guy named Jose Navaro, or something similar. I'm told I have to go to the Hayward PD to pick up a vehicle release form, then go to the Oakland PD to pick up my car. So it's 7ish by the time we get to Oakland, where the officer ( Read more... )

Sorry about all you had to go through honey.
Did you at least get to pop the bastard that took your car a good one?
Is there going to be some insurance coverage that will pay for the damage for the car?
I understand the feeling violated bit. I never can understand how someone can have total disregard for someone else and/or their belongings. Makes me angry.
At least you have the car back (even though the police are idiots... that's why I don't like them very much... especially up here).

*hugs*

Thanks, sweetie. :)
No, I didn't get to, but boy do I still want to!!
I have to talk to the DA about damages and everything.
I hadn't had a chance to get insurance on the car yet, so the only hope of damage coverage is whatever the judge can get out of the asshole. Not that I'm holding much hope of the guy having anything to pay for it all. :-/
Yep, cops are idiots. There are only very rare exceptions to my loathing and contempt of them...

If they ask you if you want to press charges, say yes,

I wonder if Jose liked the book? Probably not his thing.

Anyhow, don't worry about my book. I'm just happy you got the car back.

Good Gods!

I am really glad you got your car back, but that totally sucks that it got so trashed and your stuff is gone. Of course you feel violated - this is YOUR car and he took it and used it badly without your permisison. Hell, you'd be pissed if a friend borrowed it and did all that, right? And this fuckwit just took it?

What a jackass.

Sorry the cops are being asshats too. Still, at least they found it and got the guy who was in it. I really hope he gets the book thrown at him. Grrr.

I'd be a little pissed if a friend borrowed it and did that, but at least I'd have known someone had it and could probably provide a viable excuse about the state of things. LOL
But yeah, I'm still cranky and sick-feeling over the whole thing. :-/ But, Kris got me good and toasted last night at KoC, so I feel much better! ;) Who says we Irish can't just drink our problems away?
Ooh, reminds me I need to get a new keycard for the ranch... *grumble* Those aren't cheap... :( *wonders if anyone wants to donate to the cause*
