Had it been an isolated incident, I might not have posted here, but since the person who plagiarized my story is already listed on the profile of this comm as a known plagiarist, it appears to be a pattern. I don't like doing this, but I didn't like reading my story with whole new characters in the roles, either. :(
On April 7th,
ilsaluvsrick posted a story called "Kindness of Strangers" to
mad-scribblers.
That story is bascially a retelling of my story,
A Little Night Music substituting Matt and Mohinder from Heroes for Dom and Brian from The Fast & The Furious.
I left a comment on the story post asking her to remove the story, and its related links at two comms:
matt-mohinder and
heroes-slash.
ilsaluvsrick has since deleted the story, and its associated links.
In additon to the same framework (a neighbor watching, giving the protagonists generic nicknames, even the sequence of events), whole chunks were lifted virtually verbatim and put into present tense:
From: "Kindness of Strangers":
Doc has hit the mound. Cop was most certainly preparing himself for a fast ball. It kind of skewed her view. Not literally, she could see just fine, thank you, and it was all good. But in all these months, watching from her little perch she would have put dollars to donuts that Cop was the one in charge. He was so solid and big and strong with those huge hands, Cop was a cop for Christ sakes. But here stood slim pretty little Doc clearly putting it something fierce to the big man himself. And judging by the way he was dropped down on his elbows, he seemed really, really, really happy about it.
From "A Little Night Music":
Was The Babe hitting the mound? Was that big Man O’ Muscle getting himself ready for a fastball? It skewed her view of them. Not literally, she could still see them just fine, thank you. But her view of who they were changed in that moment. It had seemed so clear, watching from her shielded nest, that in their world Muscle Man drove and The Babe navigated. But here stood The Babe, putting it to Muscle Man something fierce if the way Muscle Man dropped down to his elbows told her anything, and Muscle Man looked really, really happy about it.

From: "Kindness of Strangers":
Doc starts to move and it quickly careens out of control for her, speeding past merely hot into incendiary, panty soaking, molten lava, spine melting hotness.
From "A Little Night Music":
The Babe started to move and then it moved past hot and into incendiary, panty-soaking, and no way could she keep her hands out of play, not with their rhythm seeping into her body, dragging her down with it.
---
From: "Kindness of Strangers":
Doc has a beat going. He’s rocking so hard he’s shaking both of them, bending across Cop’s wide back, those dark curls against all that pale skin.
From "A Little Night Music":
The Babe had some kind of beat going now, rocking so hard he shook them both, bending across Muscle Man, rubbing his head on that broad back.

From "Kindness of Strangers:"
They fucking blew her mind.
Correction, their fucking has blown her mind.
From "A Little Night Music":
They fucking blew her mind.
Their fucking blew her mind.

From: "Kindness of Strangers":
They’ve ruined her. Ruined her for boyfriends and neighbors. Not that she plans on moving anytime soon and they both seem quite happy and all settled in.
From "A Little Night Music":
They’d ruined her, she was sure of it. Ruined her for boyfriends and neighbors. Oh, well. They looked pretty settled there, in their house with the lemon tree and all those cars, and she didn’t plan on going anywhere.
I have screencaps from the story, which are posted under the cut. My story was posted on November 21, 2004 and is in black and white. Her story was posted April 7, 2008, and is on a tan background.

Being plagiarized feels awful. Reporting it feels awful. The whole thing feels awful.
