Once again I was overwhelmed by cuteness. The pre-made costume fad has not yet reached Stirling. Almost everything, with the exception of some masks were scratch made. I came close to killing a raccoon last night. Driving home from Campbellford to Stirling I had one dash in front of my car. No time to brake but was able to slow down enough that the raccoon reached safety.

This bird flies with a group of grackles but us about 2/3 of their size and does not have the colouration of an immature grackle.

We got a full day's rain on July 26 but the rain forecast for July 27 and 28 did not materialise. let's hope we get some serious soaking rain next week. The previous significant rain was almost two months ago on June 1. This drought is serious bad news for local farmers.

Today, July 9, 2012 is my father's 93rd birthday.
