The trick to running dual sound cards on a K8S-LA is setting the onboard audio to "enabled" rather than "auto".

For those who are not privy, due to a very loose dress code at work, the goatee is approaching record length.

So. PCHDTV card took awhile to configure. It took going to #debian on freenode, but I got it working somewhat. The problem is that the old girl can't take decoding most of the HD streams. The Radeon lacks XvMC support, so there is no MPEG-2 hardware acceleration, which means I'm stuck with the textured video via xv. Looks like that system ( Read more... )

Of the games I put on the SGE list was GTA: San Andreas. Partly because I never really played that when it came out, partly because I was under the impression it ran well under Wine. Unfortunately it doesn't at the moment, but the soundtrack brings back some memories. Oh, how I enjoyed the R&B of the early and mid-90s.
