I started transcribing a short baroque piece, "Begli Occhi" the other day, to study it. Today I completed the transcription, and uploaded it to share with others.

Today "J" needed to go to a meeting in Lacey, which meant a complicated morning for everyone. First we gave "T" a ride to school, then I drove J to the train station in downtown Seattle. From there she rode the train to Olympia, then a bus connection to Lacey.

On most Sundays, "J" and I go to brunch with friends, but today was different. Today, Miles and Karina were playing a live score for a collection of silent short films by Lotte Reiniger, who was also known for The Adventures of Prince Achmed (Die Abenteuer des Prinzen Achmed). This evening, "J" and I changed into nicer clothes and went to a church for a concert by the Medieval Women's Choir, which we were attending with our friend "N". We got lucky on traffic and parking (the church's reserved parking hadn't filled). The performance was a collection of medieval music with the theme "Sun, Moon, and Stars". We had a long day at work today. The traffic was easy, but we spent a lot on parking.
In the evening, we went to the Seattle Symphony. They were performing compositions by Bernard Hermann, and there was reception featuring his daughter. (Only 16 of us were in the audience of that reception.)

Today (technically yesterday) "J" and I took a walk along the Klamath River before breaking camp. We used her camp stove to make her coffee and my tea.
Along the drive back to I-5 we saw large group of people in kayaks, gathered above a rapids, with one who looked like an instructor, or maybe leader of a group. It's nice that the river is protected ( Read more... )

Yesterday, "J" and I spent much of the day unpacking. Most of that time was spent on opening boxes and trying to choose good places to store the things we found in them, and moving boxes into the rooms where their contents belong. This afternoon and evening, "J" and I went to SIFF Cinema again for the second night of this weekend's "Animation Fascination" film series. We passed on the early collection, "Animation for All Ages: The Best of SIFF Films4Families", because we didn't feel like spending the entire day in a movie theater when the weather was so nice and sunny.

This evening, "J" and I watched (500) Days of Summer, which we had checked out from the library. I had previously seen it at SIFF 2009, but it looks like I didn't write a proper review at the time, even though I took notes and pictures.
