Most days, "T" is only in school during the academic hours, but he likes staying late for "after-care", which is mostly play time with his classmates. Yesterday, "J" and I spent much of the day unpacking. Most of that time was spent on opening boxes and trying to choose good places to store the things we found in them, and moving boxes into the rooms where their contents belong. Earlier today, I wrote* about finishing the last packing for the move. Returning the trailer took quite a while; the U-Haul station was really busy with returns. Once my turn arrived, however, it went smoothly. We are finally free of the trailer. The old house is finally empty. The car is packed with the final load of stuff. Chaos awaits at the new house. But we're only a little late for brunch.

The end of moving is near, finally. The final trailer load of stuff - mostly gardening things - is at the new house. "J" and I started to unload it, but need sleep before we finish. A few things remain at the old place; they'll fit in the car after we return the trailer.
For now, however, we must sleep.

"J" and I had planned to finish the move today, but I had what turned out to be a rough encounter with General Tso last night. There's quite a bit more to tell, but for now I must sleep.

Next we drove the stuff back to the old place to get more packing done.

Since "J" and I unloaded the trailer last night we got on the road right after breakfast. However, we should have spent a little bit less time eating.

Today was another moving day. "J" and I started by unpacking the stuff we left in the trailer last night. For some of the stuff we just hauled it into the house or garage, but for some we unpacked it properly. That freed up some a box or other container we could use on the next trip; we did a lot more of that on later trips.

This morning, "J" and I had an appointment before we could get back to the moving business. Since the car is hooked up to the trailer, driving would have been annoying, so we took the bus. That went pretty smoothly, as did the appointment itself.
