After being postponed not once, but twice, we finally took the 8th graders to the high school today for their freshman orientation and student-led tours. I love this trip because it's so cute to watch my kids freak out about how scary high school is, how they swear they'll get lost the first day, how they never want to leave middle school ( Read more... )

Well, this certainly isn't how I wanted/expected to ring in the new year.

I'm one of those people who is big on New Year's Celebrations. The bigger, the better. The more fun I have on New Year's Eve, I feel like it will be an indicator of how the year will pan out. It's already not necessarily the case.

Every time I visit Longwood, I leave feeling homesick for the good ole days.

Oktoberfest as an event was great, although the bands I saw were a little lacking. I thought Patent Pending was the 80's cover band, so I didn't go to campus until it was too late.. in reality, they were a foul-mouthed punk band that I probably would've liked better in high ( Read more... )

High school reunions are so ridiculous.

Christina's big sister, Joni, was in charge (not on purpose) of planning the HHS 15th high school reunion this year and asked if I would mind helping Christina at the reunion by handing out name badges as people came in. so my week turned out a lot better than it start out, thank goodness. aunt barbara took me to cold stone tuesday night to thank me for taking care of coal while the family was at busch gardens all day sunday (and for being brave when coal snapped at me for trying to get her leash out from under her when she was laying on it) soo that was wonderful ( Read more... )
