In the course of the occasional pattern-troll, I came across this heretofore-unknown Simplicity pattern - 2862. I'm thinking steam all the way, especially with a natty blouse to wear underneath, and the fetching little hat to go with it. So I am working on designing my first Steampunk outfit.  I have made my puffy poet shirt and know I am working on the design for my coat.  I am using a modified version of the vest from simplicity 4083 with a more flared out front.  I am planning on making the vest out of burlap, either dark or mid-brown.  I found a great fabric (commonly used on ( Read more... )

Where can I find a simple black vest or bodice for women? Preferably not too expensive because the AUD is so low next to the USD right now... I can't seem to find anything in my town, and the only ones I've found online are "trendy". I'm looking for some more classic.
