PS. My weekend sucked. I was forced to listen to four hours of country music last night when I was suckered in to going to the Toby Keith concert. NEVER AGAIN will I be suckered that badly.

The Wind that Shakes the Barley is a movie staring Cillian Murphy and a bunch of other really great Irish actors, but I think Cillian is the only one most people would know. It's about the war for Irish independence in the 1920s and the beginnings of the IRA. We saw it during the film fleadh (festival) this summer. It was such a good movie. ( Read more... )

All of these songs are easy listening sorts. The type of mix to mellow out to, lay in the sun with, etc. Most are about summertime or sunny days. Some just have the sound that fits with this theme.
