The Wind that Shakes the Barley is a movie staring Cillian Murphy and a bunch of other really great Irish actors, but I think Cillian is the only one most people would know. It's about the war for Irish independence in the 1920s and the beginnings of the IRA. We saw it during the film fleadh (festival) this summer. It was such a good movie. Probably one of the more depressing ones I've ever seen, very emotional, very very good. I can't tell you enough how much I liked it. I know it will eventually be released over here, but I don't know how widely. If you see it available though, you have to go see it. There's already talk that it's a contender for the oscars. Oh No They Didn't has a link to the first nine minutes of the film.
Check it out. You should also check out
eyeslipsface.com. I found about it from Macy's. It's a new upcoming makeup line that is offering everything on there site for one dollar, for a limited time only, so check it out soon.
So does anyone else totally not get vox? Because I feel so lost over there. I don't know why or even how to articulate exactly what it is about it that throws me. Maybe it's because I never had a blog. It's just so counter-intuitive. So confusing. I like LJ so much better. I like the music posting options over at vox, but that's pretty much about it.
