Demons have long been integral to the SPN arc, as foes and uneasy allies, and the striking black - or yellow, or red, or white - possessed eyes are a striking indicator of these creatures. You missed the most important one: Sam naturally demonic in the season four finale.

I actually debated that at length! And I decided against it because it wasn't Sam being possessed by anyone, he was just SAM. Which made it super scary... so, just for you :D

Why do I have some picture in my head of Mary possessed? Did I read that in a fic and make that up?

I was racking my brain to see if she's ever been possessed, but I couldn't come up with anything - she was a spirit in Home, the djinn's creation in WIAWSNB, and also a creation in Zachariah's 'Heaven' in DSOTM, but I'm pretttty sure she was never shown as demonic - but I could well be wrong! After seven seasons, stuff tends to blur :P

Yaaaaay! My theory is that he was the real Christian in 6.01 and got possessed sometime between 6.01 and 6.02. In 6.01, he was a little condescending, but in 6.02 he was downright mean to Dean.
