[ it's been awhile since ace got to splendor, yet the weird things that happen continue being, well, weird. tonight he's walking around the wonderland district; aimlessly at first glance. whatever destination he had in mind is now completely lost, as he's utterly distracted by the giant bubbles appearing all over. he doesn't have his camping kit

[ but that's not precisely true, is it? that nothing dangerous can happen; the locals' interference is beset by caprice, at best, as Mukuro would know better than any (from both sides, now). the night is dark, but full of stars, the bubbles luminous and colourful in the shadows. it's nothing more curious than anything mukuro has encountered in the dreamscape of illusions. it is on another evening walk that he apparently still frequently indulges in after ten years that he encounters ace once more.
isn't this nostalgic? it's been a while since he has last spoken with the man, the dubious threat of harm hanging in the man's cheerful demeanor, and wouldn't it be interesting to see if he reacts to the knowledge of a certain queen's whereabouts?
there's only way one to find out. ]
Don't tell me you've taken another wrong turn.

anyway, talking is talking and it's simple enough to indulge. ]
I wasn't aware there was a "right" turn.

Then how is it you're so frequently lost?

Who knows? Maybe it's because I don't like to follow ordained paths.

Without much warning beyond the snapping of branches -- a certain blond suddenly trips out from several bushes-- struggling to keep his balance before, unfortunately falling face down onto the grass.
He doesn't move for a few, seemingly endless, seconds-- his hair mussed, his suit hosting several grass stains and dirt smudges, oh-- and there's a very colorful combination of several colors of wet paint all splattered over his suit. ]
N...nh...
[ Sorry he didn't hear a single word Ace said, he was much too busy tripping over himself.
Palms compressing to the damp grass he tries to pry himself to his knees. UGH. Why did he have to be in a white suit of all suits. Jeez.
He mumbling under his breath now, not really aware of Ace being just a few feet away. ]
N-..no.. more bubbles. Anything but the bubbles...

since the moment he first heard the awkward shuffling in the bushes, alice had his attention. ace makes no effort to help, however. at first he thinks it's just a local doing-- locally things. and having only talked to alice oncethrough the seal before made it somewhat dificult to tell it was him-- until he lifts his face.
and that's when ace is suddenly interested, giving one single step forward and tilting his head to take a better look. ]
. . . Alice!?

He's already struggling to get back to his feet, hand pressing to the back of his neck to sooth a stinging sensation there. Ugh stupid branches, stupid bubbles, stupid--- everyth-- ah? He caught sight of the faintly familiar looking man. But it doesn't come to him just yet, after all- Ace hasn't been the only one lost for the past few nights.
He tries to wipe at some of the dry paint on his cheek. ]
You're- that knight... right? No- wait, the ex-knight?
[ Sleepless nights have got him muddled. He has seen better days. ]

[ it's not that hard to memorize. ]
Why are you here so late at night? Isn't this when you're supposed to sleep?
[ and now that he's positive he's got the right person, he offers him a hand to help steady him up properly and to pull him away from the unsteady terrain next to the bushes. ]

he hadn't really been minding where he was going -- just the placement of the bubbles around him (which a few of the brightly-colored snakes curled sulkily around him were not so cautious of) -- so it almost surprises him when he hears ace's voice close by. he looks up to locate the voice -- but not really with any intention to answer, but more akin to which direction it might be better to avoid.]

and it's useless, he's seen you already. ]
Haha! It's like the rainbow curled itself around your neck!
