[ it's been awhile since ace got to splendor, yet the weird things that happen continue being, well, weird. tonight he's walking around the wonderland district; aimlessly at first glance. whatever destination he had in mind is now completely lost, as he's utterly distracted by the giant bubbles appearing all over. he doesn't have his camping kit

[ but that's not precisely true, is it? that nothing dangerous can happen; the locals' interference is beset by caprice, at best, as Mukuro would know better than any (from both sides, now). the night is dark, but full of stars, the bubbles luminous and colourful in the shadows. it's nothing more curious than anything mukuro has encountered in the dreamscape of illusions. it is on another evening walk that he apparently still frequently indulges in after ten years that he encounters ace once more.

isn't this nostalgic? it's been a while since he has last spoken with the man, the dubious threat of harm hanging in the man's cheerful demeanor, and wouldn't it be interesting to see if he reacts to the knowledge of a certain queen's whereabouts?

[ there it was. a voice that is hard to scrape off the brain. mukuro's presence was always exciting, for some reason. and it really was odd-- after all, he wasn't exactly... pleasant. he was just close enough, and distant enough. the second he pulled away ace will forget about him, yet if he dares come closer ace will bare his fangs. because this man wouldn't want proximity in any positive light, he thinks.

anyway, talking is talking and it's simple enough to indulge. ]

[ proximity is not his favourite matter, though more so the mental than the physical, and a companion on a walk is (if regarded warily) not a terrible prospect -- least of all one so entertaining. so falling into step nearby, if still with cautious distance. ]
