on his way home from the library, before noticing the creeper stranger who caught his attention, so he pauses, balancing the small stack of books he just recently checked out. ]

the stars are the same here as anywhere else, but the duration between the last time mukuro saw them with his own eyes and now is no little amount of time- just long enough, in fact, for him to be taking a pleasant evening stroll within this city he finds himself displaced in. his feet lead him in no particular direction or pattern, content to walk with no fixed destination in mind.

it's only by chance that mukuro happens upon ace, and pauses long enough to talk, hands tucked nonchalantly in his pockets. ]

So you can see now, can't you? Why this kind of linear, strict succession of moments is weird.
