[ it's been awhile since ace got to splendor, yet the weird things that happen continue being, well, weird. tonight he's walking around the wonderland district; aimlessly at first glance. whatever destination he had in mind is now completely lost, as he's utterly distracted by the giant bubbles appearing all over. he doesn't have his camping kit ( Read more... )

[Well. This could either be extremely interesting, or extremely stupid.]

Yes. Why?

[ or both! ]

Your tone makes it sound like it's obvious.

[certainly not ruling out that possibility.]

It is. You disagree?

I do.

People from all kinds of lands are here. Is that strange to believe?

Yes. Natural law is universal. [But there's almost a querying note at the end of that, like he's invited clarification.]

[ ah. that was a bit infuriating; knowing that everywhere but heartland was ruled by the same principles. ]

You shouldn't try to measure everything with only what you know.

Then how else would it work.

[And is it still dusk if night doesn't follow it, or would it naturally be something else? Curious.]

Night arrives when it wants to, sunset happens at random, and they're not in order-- things like that.

And? Do waves roll backwards? [It'd almost sound sarcastic, but he cocks his head like actually wants to know.]

Haha! Why would they? That makes no sense!

[ oh alaude you so silly ]

[He is serious business. And sounds accordingly a little nonplussed.]

The moon causes tides. If your night falls when it chooses then your waves should also. [Because applying logic to broken science makes tons of sense.]

And we're back to the beginning; you're still trying to measure things from your own perspective and the things you consider "real".

I try not to think about it, myself.

[That's actually a fair point. Which would be annoying if it were less true. He shrugs inaudibly.]

Do you. How strange.

Heartland is apparently much different than everywhere else.

Things like time and "days" don't really mean anything to us.

Heartland. Can you get there from here? [Or, you know, anywhere else that's not here.]

From here? I don't think so. Although Alice managed to get to our world when Peter White brought her in.
