Form 008 - Policies Regarding the Deceased - [voice]

Jan 11, 2011 20:26

Speaking with more and more of you, I have found I am not the only one who has authority dealing with souls. If you could all appease my curiosity, how is death handled in the world you come from?

[Attempting to be tactful; this is a first.]

Generally when they die they stay dead, though there are... special circumstances in which their soul lives on from within another.

[That normally isn't a good outcome.]

Possession, then? May I ask what these circumstances are, or how those who become possessed tend to act?

[Normally, no... for the possessed.]

It depends on the strength of the two souls, I suppose. The stronger one would dominate the body of the living, and take hold for however long they don't slip up. It depends on the strength of will as to which personality takes hold.

Though that's the only one I'm familiar with, there are several other ways it could manifest.

Sounds like the standard set up for possession, then. I thank you for your input, Mister...?

[Hello there. He's gonna have to simplify again, isn't he?]

Death. What happens when it occurs in your world?

[Absolutely :D]

They're dead?

[I think you rendered him speechless for a moment.]

...What? I wasn't speaking of anyone specific.

They either return to the dirt or they are absorbed by the one who killed them.

Does this absorption affect the host at all?

[and then more to himself] I hate to think how Sutcliff's personality would have changed.

Empowering, if there is power to take and the means to bear it.

I see. I thought you were referring to taking on personality traits.

Authority on dealing with souls? [ He will just mumble this next part to himself don't mind him. ] Shinigami, demons, angels, any higher order really.

[ And back to reality again, derp. ] Ah! Yes, well, it depends on the person in question beliefs too, doesn't it? Granted everyone goes to a similar plane of existence when they pass away.

Yes, that is essentially correct. Does one option hold presidency over the others in your world?

Hm not to my knowledge. I guess many people would like to go to heaven compared to hell or whatever it's called in the belief you're familiar with. But then again who wouldn't?

That is what we refer to it as, as well.

Whether they want to be assigned to Heaven, or not, is not a determining factor, however.

... Kind of a morbid question...

[a beat] Ah, well, I've never heard of anyone coming back to life. ...Unless they become a zombie or something, but that's more like being undead anyway.

Reviving a soul is possible, though terribly unlikely.

Is it? I can't say I know of that ever happening back home, but I think anyone who was causing trouble and went after souls used them for their own purposes.

The person is usually one of great importance, who had not yer fulfilled their purpose.
