Speaking with more and more of you, I have found I am not the only one who has authority dealing with souls. If you could all appease my curiosity, how is death handled in the world you come from?

[Attempting to be tactful; this is a first.]

Generally when they die they stay dead, though there are... special circumstances in which their soul lives on from within another.

[That normally isn't a good outcome.]

Possession, then? May I ask what these circumstances are, or how those who become possessed tend to act?

[Normally, no... for the possessed.]

It depends on the strength of the two souls, I suppose. The stronger one would dominate the body of the living, and take hold for however long they don't slip up. It depends on the strength of will as to which personality takes hold.

Though that's the only one I'm familiar with, there are several other ways it could manifest.

Sounds like the standard set up for possession, then. I thank you for your input, Mister...?

[A chuckle is heard over the seal.] Vanitas.

Then, thank you Mister Vanitas. I am William T. Spears. I should have introduced myself earlier, I apologize. Though, I hardly find the topic of souls to be a humorous matter.

It is a rather serious topic of discussion, yes.

[His way of saying "Whatever; it's cool." without shooting himself in the foot.]
