Last nite I started to learn how to weld. I used a TIG (Tungsten Inert Gas) welder and practiced controlling the "puddle". I used filler and welded two pieces of steel square tube together. It was pretty cool. Next project: Hot rod a filing cabinet.

Last nite I worked on Mabel's blinker switch. Following the formula that when I fix something, a new problem occurs (or I break something else), I broke the plastic cover that goes behind the steering wheel over the steering column. Should be an easy fix with some epoxy and maybe a hose clamp. On the plus side, the blinker works better than ever ( Read more... )

Finally I got the tie rod ends and installed them last nite. Didn't fix the problem but helped a bit, they did need to be replaced. Now we think the problem is in the King Pin bearing. That is going to suck to replace and I don't know when I can get into the shop again. Now the clutch feels weird too and somehow I miswired the blinker and it won't ( Read more... )

I want to know how to hack a Staple's "EASY" button to make it into a hard button. It needs to be able to say my own message when I hit the button. What kind of chipper would I need?

I had a sound gig at Harvard University yesterday. I left at 2:30 which would have gotten me there with five minutes to spare. My gas meter doesn't work all the time, or it sort of works, but usually when it is on "E" that means I have three gallons. My car ran out of gas about five minutes driving away from the gig.
