I saw him in concert once, he was the opening act for...I can't remember. But I loved the song about The Filling Station Holdup. That was between Come Monday and Margaritaville and he was not a star yet. I read all his books, and of course appreciated his music. This was one of my favorites
I heard the news this morning, and as a long-time fan (over 45 years), I'm devastated. He was one of a kind, his music has kept me warm through many a cold day, winter and summer. The world just got a little colder.

I would agree. His music and presence had a warmth to it that will be hard to replace.

I'm going to play one of his live albums this evening. He gave us so much, he'll live on through his music like all the greatest do.
