Does anyone know how to tell whether a plum has red or yellow flesh without cutting into it? I have it narrowed down to certain Japanese varieties--Prunus salicina http://www.uga.edu/fruit/plum.html --but is there a way to tell by appearance if the variety isn't indicated?

Mean weather in the neighborhood, I'll grant: tornadoes 100 miles west, golf-ball sized hail 35-40 miles northwest, some trees blown down and power out 10-15 miles north. Checked on the "garden" (do 9 plants a garden make?) this morning and found that something had trodden on, tripped over, or sat on the Brandyboy tomato. It's broken off just above the ground. Must go hunting at the garden stores tomorrow. Alas!
