back at work the past two days and each day I feel stronger than the one before. Quite a virus, this! I keep hearing from folks all around the country who've been dealing with this same one. Small world, I guess. Anyway, one of the signs of improving: I was actaully able to carry a tune this evening, when singing along with a CD. So there's less of ( Read more... ) -

today was not "better." Having heard from a few others who had this thing, I suspect it'll take awhile. Still, it's not worse, so that's something.

getting better...
today I've got laryngitis. really odd voice! not sore throat. Saw Dr Ed (our wonderful primary care Osteopathic doc) today; he confirms that this is a virus and says that this stage is toward the end, when the airway (includes vocal cords) is sloughing off the dead bad-guys from the virus. so hopefully by tomorrow or the next day I'll be back to ( Read more... ) -

I've had a chance to visit my friend Rick a couple more times since last I posted. Please continue to keep him in your prayers. He's lost a lot of weight, is no longer strong enough or alert enough (lots of pain medication) to drive, and has been sorting through some of his earthly things to give to dear ones or get rid of. there's a cold going around. around the town. around the facility where I work. and trying to go around in me. Interestingly, it was almost a year ago that I had my last cold. I just don't usually get colds. Thanks to all the fruits and veggies that I ingest every day, they tend to sort of bounce off me ( Read more... ) -

I visited my buddy, Rick, this evening after work. I've been trying to catch him for a week or two, only to leave phone messages that haven't gotten a response. I figured it was worth a try, and simply dropped by. He was awake and up, and visiting with his friend, Mary Lou--another nurse. Anyway, it was a sweet visit. things are good.
I'm getting used to the new job. Am working evenings, 2pm to 10:30pm. Have really good staff "under" me (a good nursing assistant is worth his or her weight in platinum!). And, starting in January, I'll they'll have a new nurse, so I'll be able to cut down to the intended "four days a week" work schedule. This should leave time and energy to get ( Read more... ) -

Two very sweet things: We took our almost 29 yr old niece out for breakfast, to celebrate her upcoming birthday--it's in two months, but we'd found the parts that help secure the windshield onto her motorcycle, so we started celebrating early. She was delighted and we, as always, enjoyed learning more about the woman she is becoming; she enjoys ( Read more... )
